Rename - replace space space with space goes into weird mode

when replacing space space with space
everything after the space is appended - running multiple times results

Can you make a screen capture and/or give more details?
Is it with the "string replacement" action?
When I try, it does not do any change anything, as it says that old and new name are the same.
