Pocket AMC Reader for Android 2.3.2 available [29.9.2020]
French Translation
1) As a french user of your App I would be glad to translate it in french.elman wrote:The app is ready for translations so if anybody is interested in translation, let me know and I will send file to localize. It's about 230 string at the moment.
2) I've a question:
=> Is it a way to use the web address field to play locally on the phone a movie located on a NAS?
I know that my phone can handle this, as I could manage to play video files of my LAN using the android file explorer App Total Commander and it's LAN plugin. While exploring my NAS as a windows share, TC displays the path of the folder as ///LAN/MyNAS/MyShare/MyPath and for the video file, VLC receives an URL that looks like http://127.0.0.1:60077/MyNAS/MyShare/MyPath/MyVideo.mp4.

I tested this some time ago to see if Android supported this by default but no, it does not. I already have this feature in wish list, so I'll increase it's priority.xlv600 wrote: 2) I've a question:

Or you can try to open XML file in Firefox and it will tell you exactly where's the problem (it's 91st movie). Although I believe it will tell you only first problem. When you fix that one, open XML again to see if there are any other problems.
If you still can't figure it out, PM me and send me your XML and I will make it work for you.

Hi,sts85 wrote:Are you he way to improve the appearance for the high resolution 1280 x 800?
actually it's not a problem with resolution. My phone has 1280x720, so the app is capable of running in high resolution. Problem is that tablets display content differently because they have much smaller screen density.
I have plans to rewrite the app to look good on tablets, however I don't own one, so that makes it really difficult to test in real world Also this rewrite would mean that I would drop support for Android 1.x and 2.x, which is not something I'm too eager to do at the moment.
But don't worry I'll look into it and try to find some quick fix.

Hi, I using AMC for a while.. and I now it is a big reguest, but I really appreciate if someone do the simple Windows Phone AMC database reader.. I try some other database program for Windows Phone (some called "Database" which was really simple and read the .csv files, but i cant proprietly setting that for the export from AMC.. now the app disappeared from marked), I have my list of film in excel also.. but in AMC i have additional info .. any app which can read the files from AMC or their exports will be nice.
Can run AMC Reader on Nook HD+ but cannot see pictures.
Apologies if this is a common tablet issue...
I'm trying to use a recent AMC Reader on a Nook HD+ tablet which has a very nice 9 inch full colour full HD display. Thanks to Barnes & Noble allowing the Google Play app, I can purchase, install and run the AMC Reader using my exported XML file but pictures are not showing, neither as a thumbnail nor under the Picture tab.
Before exporting, I ensured that nearly all (99.9% of 3000+) titles had pictures included in the catalog. When exporting, I asked it to create a subfolder in which to put the pictures from the catalog. When I browse the XML file, each title uses a string 'my_pix_folder_name\movie_pix.jpg' and I can see the pix in the subfolder. Of course, I copied both the XML folder and the subfolder to a single target folder on the Nook HD+. When I run AMC Reader, I see all the catalog text, as expected, but no pictures.
I read in the Nook Developer Reference
https://nookdeveloper.zendesk.com/entri ... ence-Guide
that the Nook HD and Nook HD+ use /mnt/sdcard for the internal non-volatile file storage. I'm wondering if AMC Reader fixes up the movie title picture path with a prefix different to that of the Nook HD+? And is there a way to work around this?
