hi all,
this is a bunch of HTML-view templates using up to 5 additional stills. The layout is much the same and can easly be changed.
Using the picture templates is as easy as every other template, but you have to do a couple of things first.
Don´t worry, you need to do this only once and it looks much more complicate than it is.
*** PART 1 - Picture handling (in 1 minute without picture copying)
1) Create a directory which will later contain all your movie pictures.
2) Create a subdirectory for EACH movie named by the movie number (e.g. "1560" for movie number 1560)
-- OK, at this point you´ll think "what the hell...", but stay calm, the little batch file (makedirs.bat) from the package will do this automaticly for you in 1 sec.
-- You know how to work with a batch file, don´t you? --> Sure you do, otherwise do this:
-- Open makedirs.bat with you favorite text editor or right-click & edit.
-- In the first line change the HIGHEST movie number (e.g. Number=300)
-- In the second line change LOWEST movie number - 1 (e.g. Start=0)
-- SAVE the batch file in your PICTURE DIRECTORY from above!
-- Double click the batch file, it will then create 300 subdirectories named from 1 to 300.
3) Copy your movie pictures(jpg-format) to the corresponding movie subdirectory. (Don´t care about the names but about the size!)
-- You can don´t need to do this for all movies at once.
4) Now use "Lupas Rename" for complete automatic renaming. It is free and a very useful programm. (
http://rename.lupasfreeware.org/)
-- You can rename ALL your hundreds of picture files including ALL subdirectories at once with 1 click! - Exactly what you need here.
-- HAVE A LOOK at the included example picture(lupas.jpg) first to see how to rename! (There is an english version of the program.)
-- Use a different catalog name for each catalog you have.
You´re done! - with part 1
Info:
-----
- For large catalogs with thousands of pictures it is a must to use the tools and also a batch picture tool like free "FastStone Photo Resizer".
- Of course, all the efforts are depending on the amount of movies and pictures you have.
- It´s also a good idea to keep the size of your pictures small to prevent long loading times while browsing through your movies.
- The pictures can NOT be stored in the catalog.
- REMEBER: Renumbering your movies in the catalog needs a renumbering of your picture directories and names! Not a good idea at all.
*** PART 2 - preparing your catalog (you can do this two ways in 1 minute)
First possibility:
1) open the dummy catalog (Dummy.amc).
2) Edit the custom field "Picture Path" and set the default value to your picture path without the last backslash (e.g. D:\My movie pictures).
-- (you can later add some more paths to the list value if you like or change the path with "update fields" script in AMC.)
3) Edit the custom field "catalog name" and set the default value to the catalog name you used before with Lupas Rename.
4) Import your existing catalog.
5) Save the catalog to a new name.
6) Choose one of the templates(3/5 pictures) in HTML-view.
Second possibiliy:
1) Make a BACKUP of your catalog! Open your catalog.
2) Add a new custom field and type "PIC_PATH" (without quotes) into the tag field. Press the green plus button then OK.
3) Add a new custom field and type "CATALOG" (without quotes) into the tag field. Press the green plus button then OK.
4) Open script window, select all movies and click "update fields"-script, then choose "replace a field".
-- choose "PIC_PATH". Confirm then type in/copy your picture path (without the last backslash!). Wait for some seconds to process.
-- Now the "PIC_PATH"-field should be filled with your picture path for all movies.
-- Do the same for "CATALOG".
5) Save your catalog.
6) Choose one of the templates(3/5 pictures) in HTML-view.
That´s all!
All the needed files, including this text and some example pictures.
Unpack the templates and the background.gif to your template directory, the catalog to your catalog dir.

HINT:
-----
- If you prefer to have all your pictures in only ONE directory, you can now move them to your picture dir (Win-search all *jpg from pic dir, then copy).
Use template "3/5 pictures - one dir". That´s it.
- When you later want to add some more pictures, do again PART 1(step 2-4) and sort files in Lupas by date so you can select the new pics only.
- You can do this for more than one catalog in the same directory, just use diffent catalog names.
- I also added a template (basic.html) if you don´t like pictures and are still awake
good luck & enjoy
PS: You can of course use Antoines renamer as well, but I don´t have a clue how it works. so you may ask Antoine for this.
