Big Files Error in dimension, length, Video bitrate

Post by zzz_siberia_zzz »

when importing big avi files [4+GB] ant made an error getting information from the file. it reports incorrect file size [sometimes negative, sometimes very small 350 or so], incorrect video bitrate [very big numbers, usually above 10.000]and incorrect length [always under an hour].

Audio codec & bitrate, video codec, resolution and frame rate are identified correctly.

I tryed about 10 files ranging from 3,7 to 4,4GB, encoded with xvid, h.264, wmv3.
bye

Hi,
File size was limited to 2 GB, it is fixed for next version, cf viewtopic.php?t=3325
Other info depend on which engine you use. If you use MediaInfo it may be fixed in that new version as lots of things were improved.

the new beta version fixes the file size reporting, but not the video bitrate nor the time length of the avi.

I've update both the program and the mediainfo but not tried the mixed combination [old prog + new mediainfo].

I'll wait for new releases to test.
thanks for the great work.

PS.
It isn't a real problem, the number of hdtv files I own is not so high and i can insert easily the gspot data myself.

old prog will not work with new media info, and anyway it won't solve the problem ;)

In Tools -> Prefs -> Media file import, is the option "use internal engine" unchecked? if yes, then it means that the bug comes from MediaInfo, I think.

well, i was using the internal renderer, with the mediainfo enabled file size and movie length are ok :grinking: . video bitrate is about doubled [2,15-2,3X] but decrease at every post. we are very near ;)
I think that is a mediainfo matter now.
thanks again
