How to show Chinese char in Catalog?
How to show Chinese char in Catalog?
It's been a while, after an upgrade, all my Chinese char turned into square, is it possible to show it in Chinese? If so, how?
Re: How to show Chinese char in Catalog?
An upgrade of what? Of the program or on your system (Windows)?
If you copy the squares and try to paste them in another program (web browser, text editor, etc.) do the right characters appear or do they stay as squares?

An upgrade of the program. I'm in Linux now, I'll check and report back later.antp wrote: 2018-09-06 16:28:48 An upgrade of what? Of the program or on your system (Windows)?

Re: How to show Chinese char in Catalog?
I'm afraid the formatting is lost, the squares show in other editors also as squares.
Just one additional question, if I want to add Chinese movie titles, do I need to add Chinese language in the program?

Re: How to show Chinese char in Catalog?
The program uses Windows' default character set; the one defined for non-Unicode apps:

In your case, I suppose you use WinE, but I don't know how this is handled. I suppose this is defined somewhere in the configuration (or you use it on Windows but were under Linux where replying?)
it is strange that the problem occurred after an update of the program, as I nothing should have changed about that.
From what version to what version did you upgrade?
If you try again with the old one, does it still work?

Thanks antp for your prompt reply.
Yes, you're right, I was a Windows user, but lately had lot of problem with Windows 10 doing updates on the background and messing up with sound driver, so I decided to roll back to Windows 8.1 and learning to use Ubuntu, I'm replying from Ubuntu.
Unfortunately I've deleted the old file (I should have rolled back then, but was busy and forgot), and it's been few years ago, I'll try to re-create those entries again and see what happens.
I'd like to congratulate you with this awesome open source apps, I can't find similar apps in Linux, most of them are obsolete and not maintained any longer, do you have any plan to have a Linux version? Experience/tips on how to install it in Linux through Wine? Thanks.

Re: How to show Chinese char in Catalog?
I think it runs fine on WinE from comments I received, but I never used it myself.
My Linux experience is quite limited: I use it for my web server (on which this site runs) but that's all, so GUI experience then (well, now my phone too, since I was more or less forced to switch to Android after the fall of Windows Phone).
Someday I'll probably also switch for my desktop & laptop, not sure when... I doubt I'll ever rewrite the application for Linux though, as I use it less than before.
