a bug...?

Post by mikskov »

I get this message sometimes when I try to close the program:
Access violation at address 00BBB0E4. Write of address FFFFFFFB5
Then you have to close the program from the task manager...

Yes, it is a bug that few people have.
But since I can't reproduce it (nobody can describe me a way to get this error) I can't find what causes it :(
Do not forget to often backup your catalog, since people that have this error sometimes had their catalog file corrupted :D

i'll try to describe it...

Ok, I'll make an attempt to descibe how I experienced it.
When you use the shortkey [shift + F9] to get data from files there is a small amount of time the computer works (since I've collected data from CD's). Now, if you switch program during this time, for example switch to MS Outlook window and return to Ant Movie Catalog the pop-up window where you select the file to get the data from is diappeared. The only way to get this window up again is to select the "get data from files" from the menu. (The shortcut key now does not work.) Finally, try to close the program... you should experience this bug then.
Hope this helps although the explonation perhaps was not the best...

You mean some time between the shift+f9 and the moment where the window appears ?
It only takes few millisecondes here, I can switch to another window fast enough...
Same for importing info from CD, it is quite immediate...

I forgot to check actually :D
I wrote it on my to-do list, so I'll check that for the next version, but for the moment you can simply do not switch to another program while waiting for this window :p
