Help needed to use UpdateFields script

Post by Malbec »

Hi everybody,

I'd like to fill, in the whole database, a currently empty field with a value (the same for all films). I tried the updateFields script, but I couldn't get it to do what I want...

Here is how it goes on:
- I choose "replace a field"
- In the list of fields that appears, I highlight the field I want to fill
- I answer yes to the message "you will replace the field contents"
- I enter the new value I hope to obtain
- I click OK, the window closes and... nothing happens!

I did update the script.
I also tried different filter options, but it still doesn't change anything.

Your help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi,

Do you select "All" in script limitations (before to run the script) ?
What field do you select ?

I test with "Replace a field" option and all work great.

Can you give me more details ?

- What field do you select and what value you want to put ?

- Are you sure this field its checked in modifiable fields (in script limitations part) ?

OK, I'll take pictures of each step of the process and share them in Yahoo, as I did for the first one. I think it will be more meaningful than an explanation.

Thank you for your help!

Yes, it works perfectly! I just didn't see the list of modifiable fields in the right lower side of the min window :-[
When I tick the one I want to change, everything is all right :grinking:

Thank you very much for your help, anyway!
