full CPU charge, back again =(

Post by blins »

Hy all,

thx a lot to antp, AMC and Ant renamer are two prodigious programs ! You're a great developer ;)

but, well, I've still have the bug with the 100% of cpu...I've try with nVidia desktop ON and OFF, but this is still buggin....
This is strange, sometimes I can use AMC during 1 hour without any crash, and a second time, just after 5min it slow down my computer :(

I've got a AMD 1.3Ghz with a geForce 4 =(

a patch for me ? :) ?

Does it do the same with Ant Renamer? Or only in AMC?
Currently there is no solution, and I wad never able to reproduce the problem on my system (AMD 1.2 with GeForce4)
Did you update-reinstall driver recently? Maybe it is a problem of some drivers versions, as some people could solve it by upgrading their drivers.

I have similar problem here:
after clicking on several (10-20) consecutive movies in my catalogue I am getting stalled computer - 100% CPU usage is reported by "Windows Task Manager"
I can remove the clog by "End Process" of "MovieCatalogue.exe" but after that other programs start to behave strangely by often giving me the same 100% CPU usage. The problem is gone after comuter restart.

I'm using your Movie Catalogue for 2+ years (thanks a lot for the program!!!). I'm recollecting of NOT having this problem a year ago: I have not changed my computer configuration for ~3 years (Athlon 2.1+ CPU and windows XP Professional, please, ask me for any details of my computer configuration you may think is important). And I cannot recall any association of appearence of this problem with installation of any other programs.

I have all Windows updates installed; Norton Antivirus 2006 does not report any viruses.

Still, I think your program is Super. And I'm not planning to change it to something else.

I have same problems.
AMD Athlon 2400+, NVIDIA GeForce MX4000, Win 2k.

Ran on another computer, Intel, Win98, no problems so far?

Thanks for any help.

I guess it is due to the update of one of the components used in AMC, as lots of things were updated for version 3.5, but I do not really know which one. I hope it is due to the list component that I use, as I was planning to replace it by the one used in Ant Renamer.

Athlon 3000+, GeForce 7600GT, Win XP SP2

I'm sorry to say that I've also become a victim of this problem.I added alot of movies recently, and I don't recall having this problem nearly as often when I had fewer movies in my list. What seems to make the program crash everytime is when adding subtitle info to a movie.I'm not sure if this has been the cause on my pc everytime, or if the addition of movies increases the chances of crashes in general.
Will try and test further, when I'm in the mood for more reboots

Great program, it's really a shame with this bug that essentially prevents me from using it :/

As usually, I can only suggest to try to update video drivers or disable the "nView Desktop" functionnality.
I recently upgraded my PC to a newer one, with a newer nVidia card, and I still do not have that problem...

Well, it seems I've made a simple blunder; I exited the nview desktop via the desktop icon, not realizing that the process was still running in the background :ha:

Everything seems to be in order now (so far).I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's stays that way ;)

Thanks for the assistance, and for making amc in the first place
