Best way to backup?

Post by bg334 »

Hi:

Hard drive failed and I had not backed up my database. In process of recreating catalog.

What is the easiest, most complete way to back it up, together with the pictures, in the event I ever have a catastrophic failure again? Sorry for the newbie-esque question -- just want to get it right.

Thanks in advance.

Simply save the .amc or the .xml file of your catalog. If your pictures are stored externally you also have to save them (if your catalog is few kilobytes, pictures are external, if it is several megabytes they are stored in it).
You may also want to save the prefs.xml and loanshistory.csv files.
Do not forget your templates if you created some.
