hi,
it's getting better with every release. still i miss some things:
- director of photography field
- specifying a folder for linked pictures
(i.e.: "copy to folder [FOLDERNAME]" instead of
"copy to catalog folder")
- changes to multiple movies. would be great to
be able to select ten movies, then set their genres all
at the same time.
still, thanks for the great work!
suggestions
Hi.
I'll add fields in version 4.
Defining a folder for pictures is also planned for a future version, but is it so useful ? You can put the catalog in a folder dedicated to it, so the folder will only contain the catalog and its pictures.
You can do change to multiples movies using Scripting (Tools -> Scripting or Shift+F6), then the "Update all fields" script. It will be integrated in the main menu in a future version.

usefulness
you are probably right that it is possible to create a dedicated folder for each catalogue. my normal approach however is to create subfolders for each set of data. to me it's like having bin, etc, log and lib folders. or, like in this case, the core .amc document and then a subfolder called img, for example. i just dont tend to throw two (semantically) different things in the same bin.
just a personal habit, i guess i got it from editing. an unstructured avid bin is not something you want to work with
