Importing & exporting...

Post by ABNormal »

i tried to export some titles from my personal database, to copy them into a new one.
I select titles, and export them in a csv format.
I open 2nd DB but i should give name to each column! no no no, well...
1st database: export in Origon format
importing: ERROR! UNEXPECTED VERSION NUMBER. HEADER FOUND: AMC 3.4.2.

So:

1) I think you have to correct this Warning in Origon export
2) why not to create a AMC (or XML) saving for seleted titles, or (if number of fields in csv format is equal to your standard) not to try to automatize the field renaming in CSV (if i remember CSV can create a 1st data line with titles... should be useful to add a selectable choice like this one).

Thx a lot

1. I'll check for origons export
2. detecting columns of CSV file is planned but not yet done. If you want to have only some movies in another catalog, create a blank catalog, import the other catalog and only select the few movies that you want to import. Or simply open two times the program and copy/paste the movies from one window to the other. Or copy the catalog and deleted the unwanted movies. I could add an export to AMC itself, so it would generate a AMC/XML file for selected movies as you suggested; it will be for later :p

About Origons import & export: this is not a bug. The imported file is not exactly the same than the exported file since it is made by Origon's site.
