Sorry, was my fault.
I deleted all files in script folder to leave only Filmaffinity and IMDB. And I deleted the .pas files too.

Lot of thanxs for the clue.

The current updated IMDb script is missing data fields it previously found. Director, Producer, Composer, Writer fields are being retrieved as blank.

Maybe IMDb updated again their site?

A minor annoyance is the country field is being listed as United States instead of USA, the previous value.

For which movie do you have the problem?
(I tested one and it worked)

For the country, it may be a change at their side, as the script just takes the value that's in the page. You could either change the other values you already have in the catalog (can be done by script), or change the script to do a replacement before setting the field. For the latter solution you would have to apply the change again at each new version of the script.

I have tried to retrieve catalog info for 4 different TV series. All 4 have blank new values.

Batman (1966)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059968/

The Twilight Zone (1959)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052520/

I, Claudius (1979)
http://imdb.com/title/tt0074006

Roseanne
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094540

I just tested other TV series, and still blank values. The year for TV series is also retrieved as blank.

I have tested several movies and the values are retrieved correctly. Could it be TV series formatting is laid out different from movies?

Using IMDb EN script 4.0.10

I'm not able to get the IMDB script working for movies. Every field imported is blank with the error "IOHandler value is not valid".

I have updated to the beta and updated the latest IMDB script from 18-April. Still no go.

Any workaround or suggestions would be really welcome.

Thanks,

Amit

Does it show version 4.010 in the bottom panel when IMDB script is selected?
If so, I'll need a screenshot of the options selected (panel on the right of the window) as it may be related to a combination of choices made there, as well as an example of movie causing the problem.

Okay that was the problem. I got it working. Thank you antp.
I originally updated the new script for IMDb but then it said it wanted 4.2.2 beta minimum so I extracted the v4.2.2 files into my AMC folder and the new IMDB script got overwritten. It was still showing the old version.
Sorry about that. My bad.
Thanks again for your help antp. I really appreciate it. :clapping:

Indeed, that's a trap, I didn't think about that problem...
I really should update the beta install & rar files for avoiding that situation.

I think most people who face similar problem will land here and find the issue and its resolution.

But yes, updated script inside the install and rar files will work nicely. :D

Thanks again antp.

When I use IMDB URL for searching a movie, the program returns nothing at all. Using the movie title works fine, I pre fer to use the URL though.
I would appreciate any comment.

Thanks for the info, I'll check that at the same time as the series problem, probably this weekend.

AMC 4.2.2
Script Version 4.010
But it does not import special characters and accents any more? That is I'm getting Lasse Hallstrom instead of Lasse Hallström

ConvertToASCII is set to 0.

Coming back to this bug for the series, Director & Producer are not listed for series anyway. Composer & Writer are imported from the list further down in the Reference page, not from the few fields at the top, so importing these for series is annoying to do because it can't be processed by the same function that process all the other cast members (actors etc.)
Maybe I'll check that later.

With non-HTTPS urls indeed there was a problem, fixed (v4.011)
If other cases cause a problem, please provide an example

For me - this film doesn't work either :-(
What settings should I check? I did not change any settings - just updated the script first and after it said it needed a newer version of the app - I updated the app itself to current beta.

Can AMC display these characters correctly for other entries? (as AMC is not unicode, it depends on the system's default character set).
Otherwise maybe it is something done by IMDb because they don't recognize the browser, so in case you can't handle unicode they send you a more basic version as you're not in Western-Europe / America ? It would not be the first time they send different data based on the visitor location.

AMC displays the special characters just fine from the previous (before update) entries. My Location is Moscow, Russia. When I clicked on your link, the browser showed me all the special characters. And it was all OK before the update with the same system.
