Ant Viewer can't open amc

Post by netjay »

After updating AMC to 4.1, AntViewer says "Unable to load file xy.amc: Cannot identify file type from header" when i try to open my catalog file.

It's so sad, because I use AntViewer for friends and at work.

Does anybody know what happened?

This is normal, AMC 4.1 use a new format to add custom field support.
If you want to keep the old format, you can save your catalog in AMC 3.5 format:
File -> Save As -> Select AMC 3.5 instead of AMC 4.1.
But if you save your catalog in AMC 3.5 you will lose all custom fields and color tags in movie list because this data does not exist in AMC 3.5 format.
So be careful if you use custom fields or color tags in movie list.

Hello,

I have this can not identify the file type from header problem. I have the latest version, and saved the database as instructed in older 3.5 format and in 4.2 as well, but either version I use, I am getting the same "can not identify..." message. What to do, I am in despair. Please help!
