importing new media files from external hdd

Post by Teebee »

Hi,

is there a way to import only new movies from folders, and not import existing ones, but with this in mind: the drive from which i was importing was f:\, but now its g:\, so it imports all the files as new.

So, is there no way to import a moviefolder and only add new movies, because it didnt add a new movie i added.

It has the same foldername, so it didnt import it.

Is there a way to check for medialabel so it knows it is located on another drive, thus it should import it?

I can't really help with the media importation feature, as that was added by soulsnake.
You mean that it checks if the file is already in the catalog? If so, you could simply update the paths of the files already in the catalog? (either via script, or by editing the XML file if you use XML as storage format)

Yes, but then it will import every single file again if you do an import of that same source disc hdd.

formatedtitle

Use the formatedtitle as a key (custom title = filepath+....)
or
set external Hdd to fix letter !
([HUN] Magyarul egyszerűbben el tudnám mondani)

Problem is i have used 4 external hdd's over time, and all were imported with G:\ as root.

Guess all i can do right now is use the auto tools to add medialabel to filepath, so i can atleast try it.

Perhabs Soulsnake can try and get a uniqueid when importing, so you can always update catalog afterwards, even when i switch external drives.
