Images help....

Post by Tracy »

Hi
Hope someone can help with this.
I add a new movie to the catalog and save the .amc file
I then go to save as and save the file as .xml
It prompts me to do something with the images.
I have read the popup hundreds of times and still dont understand what it is telling me.
I seem to have hundreds and hundreds of images but only 217 movies in the db.
Each time I save the .xml is it renaming the images and adding them to the folder?

Any help would be gratefully received

Thanks Much

Images cannot be stored in a XML file.
So it creates external files (1 per movie picture) if you click "OK" in the message.
By default picture names are "catalogName_movieNumber", so it should not create more pictures than the number of movies...

Thanks for the reply!!
I have just checked the folder that everything is stored in.
There are 217 in my db, and there are over 850 images in the folder..
I have 218 images formatted like this:
movies_218
Then I have movies_65568343 up to movies_218137351750
My db is called movies :)

When that popup comes should I choose OK or Ignore?

Thanks again

It is strange that it created other names, this should happen only if you use the "export images" functionnality...
If you chose "ignore" it will not create images and not include the image name in the .xml file.
So it depends if you need this image name or not.

Thanks for your help.
I just added another movie and did the export to .xml. It added another 65 images to the folder....

Really Confused

im wondering if this has something to do with the fact that on some movies, the image is a small one, and I have to search around for a large...

Think that could be it?

Do you only save to .xml or do you also use .amc ? If you use .amc, why do you sometimes save to .xml ?

Hi again...
I always save to .amc first. Then I save to .xml and upload to the server for web access.

Hope this helps

Well, I do not know what to say :D
Just delete the xml and the pictures before saving...
It is maybe a bug, but I do not know where it could come from.
