VENTURA SEAGUII 1.2 a new theme for AMC 4.2

Hi

I'll bring you another theme called Ventura SeaguII. This theme's based on the awesome skin, Rainbow Seagull II - made by J.
Ventura is a reference for the classic album released by the brazilian band Los Hermanos - one of the most famous and respected bands around here

Ventura SeaguII was designed for use in HTML AMC-view (in 16:9 resolutions). For a better view, install the font ('WeblySleek UI Light') included on the folder 'font'.

Ventura SeaguII 1.2 features:
Custom Background: Your first custom background will appear in the layout;
Use the TMDb script custom compiled by boyerf to download custom backgrounds automatically.

IMDb, Fanart and TMDb Icons: These icons on the top will lead you to this 3 awesome sites - according with the name of the movie (ideal for background, custom arts and more).
Don't want to use the script TMDB? Download in these two sites manually.
Actor images and stills: Will display 5 images actors and 6 stills (depending on the view selected). Click on the thumbnails to open the stills in a new window.

I made some improvements to the theme - in addition of that, i made a slight modification of the IMDb script (with some amazing modifications made by elman and sirgentx)

- New 'watched', rating icons and AMC logo;
- Top 250 IMDb icon (custom boolean field);
- Multi-disc icon: displayed in movies with more than 2 disks;
- Animated icons: 'Play the Movie' and 'Trailer':
Finally I managed to make a simple functional (hover) icon;
- Color tags define the background color (if there is no custom background image);
- Fixed some bugs that broke the layout.

GREAT your work

I'm a newbie and I try to correctly display your Template but it doesn't work

First question: to view pictures of the actors, I suppose that I must import them into EXTRA fields ? If so, what are their properties (name, image size, etc.)? I tried to copy/paste your code viewtopic.php?t=6182 in a IFS file but the options are not displayed

2nd question: no wallpaper is displayed : necessary to have EXTRAS again ?

3rd question: where can I find the fields that I can recover (eg : $$LABEL_DIRECTOR or $$ITEM_DIRECTOR) ?

Thx for the kind words

1. Use the IMDB (Actors images) script to download automatically all of the actors info.
If you wanna use manually, save the extra category as Actors and you're set:

2. Use the TMDb Fanart script compiled by boyerf to download custom backgrounds automatically.
Manually: save the custom backdrop on the 'Backgrounds' category.

I currently have my whole data catalog imported by Allociné script.
Do you know a script that would import the pictures of actors EXTRAS via URL Allociné (I read a while you've used Allociné script at the begining) ?

How not to display the image

if the audio/video fields are blank (see my screen copy) ?

Your download link does not seem to point to the latest version:
a) the note is 4 stars instead of 5. Is it possible to have haf of star ? There also seems to be a problem between the numerical mark and the number of stars displayed (see my screen copy).

For my last past question, I have found the answer for

VERSEAU44, you can change the template code to show the Allociné description. Just change some lines of code:
Right click anywhere on the HTML View, then click in Edit.
Now on the HTML Editor, search around the line 70 and 75:

Code: Select all

$$ITEM_EXTRA_BEGIN(Actors,,1,3)

And change to:

Code: Select all

$$ITEM_EXTRA_BEGIN(Acteurs et Actrices,,1,3)

Save.

The latest version of the Ventura SeaguII theme is not ready to share right now... will need some changes and i'm running out of time to do it lately.
Looks fine on my PC, but need some fix to run in others catalogs and resolutions.

To solve the

, we have 2 solutions.
First one is use the Text Label view - the icons are replaced to text strings:

The new icons are from the latest version... the old ones looks fine though.

Well, there's no way (at the moment) to hide this 2 windows automatically...you can click on the X to hide them, but will hide in all views (HTML or not).
I'm using the AMC like this - so, i can see all of my themes without problem:

About the custom fields, i've made a little tutorial to display them successfully with the IMDB script i've complied:

Basically, this script has 6 type of custom fields that will be displayed in some of my themes:
(Major) Awards, Trailer, Company, Top 250 IMDb, Number of Votes and Rank IMDb (Top 250 movies only)
Add 6 custom fields (Tools/ Manage fields) and follow the examples above:

Now when you use the script, the information will be displayed in these custom fields

I've made a simple workaround (could be way better, but works)... insert this little piece of code on the IMDb script:

Hi from France,

I'm discovering Ant Movie Catalog AND your nice graphic theme. I'm currently trying to learn how to use them, but I'm running into a number of discouraging issues.

Here's how my interface looks right now : http://i67.tinypic.com/wralqo.jpg

I have numbered most of the issues, big and small :
1 : font is too small
2 : icons are too small
3 : I don't know what this star is, nor if I can disable it
4 : here something is missing, don't know what
5 : same thing
6 : way too long, doesn't even fit in one line (and I have a 2560x1440 screen !)
7 : the downloaded fanarts (see the right pane) don't show here. And they don't show as backgrounds either.
8 : this part is all white, don't know why. I suppose the theme or the software doesn't know how to dynamically handle a 2560x1440 resolution ? (guys come on, we're in 2017...

)
9 : 5 actor pictures max (tested on several movies), where there should be 6

Other issues :
10 : film description is too long, so... the end can't be read ! No scrolling at all, no dynamic resizing...
11 : on some movies, the film description includes a link to the trailer (example : "Bande-annonce : http://xxxxx". But it's just plain text, not a hyperlink, so it can't be clicked ! It has to be copy/pasted which is extremely annoying (again, we're in 2017...)
12 : same thing for actors names, director names, etc. : nothing seems to be clickable.

fagnerp, when you create a custom theme, the LEAST you can do is to support it a little bit by answering user questions !!!

Aside from that, this whole forum seems dead. Not encouraging at all for new users. Is this how AMC creator wants his software to evolve, or does he simply want it to die because of no new adoptions ?

I answer to questions related to the program and publish updates for scripts that users provide, but I can't do support of user-created contents about which I don't even know how they work!
I already replied you elsewhere (e-mail I think?) to all what I knew (some points of your list above).

Also, this is a free software that is published "in case it is useful for people", I don't really care about the number of users like if I was selling it
