Updating categories to multiple films

Is there any quick & easy way to select multiple entries & then update Categories (genres) all at once so that maybe 20 get altered to 'Animated'?

Am I correct in assuming that once you have a series of films categorized like this you have the option of saving them to a separate catalog?

Could the selected pictures for each genre be kept as a separate color?

When you select multiple movies, you can then go to Tools->Scripting (or Shift+F6) and either use the "Update fields" script or write your own basic script (for updating a field it is just one line to write) to update in one time the selected movies.

You can go to File->Export to export only the selected movies to a new file.

I do not understand the 3rd question...
