I see that this program is available in portable form. I already have several portable programs on a USB stick & have the program from Portablelapps.com on it.
I downloaded the .RAR file but didn't know how to install it. I'm guessing that I have to unzip the RAR file. Not having a unzipper for this I downloaded & installed peazip onto the stick assuming this would just install on it.
It was able to open the zipped file OK but I still don't know what to do.
Is there a correct locatation to put the RAR file before its un zipped? Should I be using the portable installer & if so how is this done?

There are multiple programs allowing to extract rar files, e.g. 7zip or the free command-line unRAR utility from Winrar : http://www.rarlab.com/rar/unrarw32.exe
Anyway, if you found a way to extract the file with another tool, you just have to put the files in the folder that you wish (on your USB stick or on the harddisk), and the program will run in that folder (launch "moviecatalog.exe") without having to be installed nor having to write files anywhere else than in that folder, hence why it is named portable.

Thanks for the reply which got me started. I managed to get the file unzipped & onto the USB drive. I can even open the folder & it will run.
What I haven't been able to achieve so far is to get the program added to the main menu of the Portable app. I have even tried the 'install a new app' tab but when I navigate to the folder it doesn't connect in such a way to get the new app appearing on the main portable App program menu . Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

They seem to say that the entry will appear automatically if you have the app in a subfolder of "PortableApps" and that you click "Refresh Apps" in the menu:

If it still does not work, maybe try to name AMC's folder "moviecatalog", so it will match the name of the exe (which is moviecatalog.exe)
