I'm using Sumsung Galaxy tab 7.7, and I have to goto
-setting
-application manager
-pocket amc reader

and tab on the Clear Data button and the problem will solve
Yes, that does the same thing as reinstalling the app.

What regional setting do you have? Would you be willing to switch to English and try that again?

If you mean "Catalog Encodint" in the setting menu of Pocket AMC Reader

At first I'm not choose any. And now I'm choosing Western European, and it seem that the information of the "Fields in 3rd line" are correct now.

:) :)

No, I meant language settings of Android. But if "Catalog Encoding" works fine, great :D

caracter color problem

Post by rjanos »

I installed the latest Pocket AMC Reader on my phone (Sony Xperia Sola, 2.3.7 android), and I have some problems with colors (black backgruond - black caracters)!
In some "windows", while I am scrolling, the background turns to white, and became visible the black caracters.
What could be the problem?

Hi, I've heard of this problem but I'm unable to reproduce it. I'm painting background black, but font color is set to default (which should be white). Do you have problem with all the screens? There are 5 - list, detail, settings, setting of visible data in list and xml file picker.

Hi Elman! It is the problem, window by window:
1. list: black background (during scrolling turns to white); gray translated title; black nr, year, lenght, rating and category
2. detail: black background, does not turning to white during scrolling; field's name caraters are black, the content's caracters are white, or yelow (imdb link) except the description window, where the caracters are black
3-4. settings, setting of visible data in list: black background (during scrolling turns to white); caracters are black and gray
5. xml file picker: black background (during scrolling turns to white); black carakters (folders and files)
I sent an e-mail to the developer ('holdingscythe@zoznam.sk') through the Google Play Store, attached some screenshots.

Hmm.. that is weird. What color theme do you use? Have you changed default theme from black to white?

I use the default factory color theme (Sapphire). I have not changed default colors. (I don't know, where it would be possible, except for the theme setting)

I have tried the Pocket Movie Reader with some other mobiles. Every time works properly, except for Sony mobiles with Android 2 (Xperia Sola or S + Android 2.3.7).
I think, that Sony's UI or mod for the Android 2 causes the problem.

Alphabetical sorting

Post by sts85 »

Hello Mr Elman,
I have a little problem.
When I make an Alphabetical sorting on Pocket AMC Reader for Android 1.9.1, I have not the same result than on Ant Movie Catalog 4.1.2....

Almost on the Beginning when there is number and letter in the same title:

Pocket AMC Reader exemple:
10 000
2h22
8 femmes

Ant Movie Catalog 4.1.2 order exemple:
2h22
8 femmes
10 000

I prefer the Pocket AMC Reader order...

Is there a parameter on Ant Movie Catalog 4.1.2 that i don't see.
Thank You for your Help. :grinking:

It's more a question for antp or soulsnake than elman ;)
The sorting method must be different between this 2 programs.

I've didn't see any parameter in AMC to change the sorting method.

For info, the AMC 4.2.0.2 version is available.

La méthode de tri doit être differente entre ces 2 programmes.

Je n'ai vu aucun paramètre dans AMC pour changer la méthode de tri.

Pour info, la version 4.2.0.2 d'AMC est disponible.

In the Preferences window of AMC, on the first page, uncheck "Use natural comparison"

@Raoul_Volfoni

I mounted the AMC 4.2.0.2 and uncheck "Use natural comparison"...

The Alphabetical sorting is perfect... :clapping:

Thank you very much :grinking:

Extra URL & Custom Labels

Post by Tante Juut »

Hello,

I really love your app. I hope that extra's and custom field support will be added in the future. My first question: I have an second url that I want to use in the viewer to go to different moviesites. I've put the url for example in the filepath field, the IMDB_Link field and the Borrower field. The problem is that the hyperlink is not selectable.

Do you have a quick fix or workaround?

Second question. Is it possible to rename/use custom labels in the viewer for standard fields, so I can use it while we wait for the custom fields update. should I rename the fields in the xml before import? Or can I edit the database on the phone?

Thanx in advance

Glad you like it. Image extras are already supported. I really didn't see any point in importing other extras like videos. What kind of extras do you use?

Custom fields support is planned, but work on new version is going slower than expected :( Mostly because it's being completely rewritten :)

It's quote easy to do, but I'm not planning on doing that with the app. However since you managed to decompile the apk, I assume you know your way around Android programming. So the easiest way would be if I would send you the source code and you could build your own app. The change you describe only needs 3 lines to be changed.

I was thinking about it, but since AMC doesn't support it, I dropped it as well. But with your own build, it can be easily done within xml you mentioned.

So if you wish me to send you the source code, PM me.

"I assume you know your way around Android programming".

Sorry. I don't. I just decompiled it with a standard APK tool from XDA to look around and experiment a bit with the xml files. I'm not a developer. More a enthousiast user, I think.

I know that android supports a command called android:autoLink="web" to auto convert textstrings in links when it finds one, but I don't know where to put it in the files, or know how to recompile the app myself. Still learning.... ;)

It just plain fun to use more links in the app, so I can a) choose/filter&sort movies (2000+ movies) and then read more about a movie from different websites. Please add this function! The movie world is bigger than just my own database

I have sent you my dutch xml files in a PM. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi,

I looked at autoLink and you are right, it might do the trick. I will make a test build with dutch translation next week and send it to you for verification.

Sorry to bother everyone Im new here and I love the pocket amc apk and about 6 months back I spent some time decompiling and personalizing it for my self using apktool. I am not very experienced with programming but i managed to get it the way i like it and all was working 100% but I noticed a little issue that is now bugging me  so all was going well until and put the app on my new phone (ANDROID 4.2).

The issue I'm having is when I select import catalog its goes to location "/storage/emaulated/0" and I dont have the "../" option to select my sd card where my xml files are.

To check this was not a phone issue I downloaded and tried amc pocket reader 1.9.1 and it has the "../" option so I can select sd card or other locations.

can you tell my how I can make my version show the "../" in the catalog import section so I can access other areas other than "/storage/emaulated/0"?

I can put my xml onto the device storage and it works but I would like to keep it on the sd card and run it from that.

Many Thanks
Anthony.
