finding empty fields

Post by Malbec »

Hello,
I read the help, I searched the forums, but I was unable to find what is the syntax to find and empty field!
I've tried "empty" , "blank" with double, single and no quotes, but it's always interpreted literally and I don't find what I need...
I'd greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you.

Hi,

Actually you can not search an empty value but you can group your movies by the field you want (with empty values) and you will see all movies with an empty value for the group field choosen in group '< none >'.

Ah OK, so it's why I didn't find ;)
Thank you for the hint.

And... when the movies are grouped, is there a means to mark those belonging to one group, to keep this information even when they're sorted in another order ?
Thank you again.

If you click with the right button on the group you can select all the movies of the group. Then you can click with the right button on that selection to mark all as checked or apply a color tag. Or run a script on those to update a field, for example.
