Number sorting did not match the Windows style

Post by Duke »

I've a big problem in sorting files.

It's simple to explain:

Windows Style: 1,2,3,4,....160
Antrenamer Style: 1,10,100...

How can i fix this Sorting issue?

I've tried renaming Filename_1,2,3.... nothing seems to bring antrenamer to sort the files correct.

Would be great if somebody can help me out of this!

Hi,
The files in the list are sorted by the basic text comparison like what was done in older versions of Windows: it does not detect numbers in text strings.
This may be fixed in a future version.
If you really need files listed in the same order as in Windows, you can disable sorting in Ant Renamer (right click on column headers -> unsorted items) and add them by drag & drop from Windows Explorer.

Thanks for the quick reply,

If i disable all Columns i see no list of files for sure, maybe theres a missunderstanding of myself?

There is no option "Unsorted Items" see the screenshot (German: Unsortierte Elemente)

I switched also to the English version where i could see this option once but then it disappeared again, also after some restarts i this option is not visible anymore...

Thanks for your support

You do not have to disable the columns :??:
If the files are sorted by name there is an option to disable the sort. Once sorting is disabled, the option is not visible anymore (as it is useless when the sort is not forced).
In German I see that the option was translated to "Löschen".

Note: sorting is indicated by an arrow near the column title, like in most of the programs, and is changed when clicking on these column titles.
