option to sum length for multidisc video

Post by rs232 »

Is it possible to have an option like the one for the filesize where the length is actually the sum of all the individual video length in the directory?

Thanks!

I don't understand where you want to add this new information and why ?

Can you give me more details or some examples ?

If the movie it's made of 2 files e.g. 2x 700Mb and each file it's 60min long (2 hours movie basically), I can, using the appropriate option, make a sum of the filesize and add 1400Mb in the database, but when it comes to movie length (in minutes) the value imported will always be 60 minutes. Basically the length of the first file only.

I hope I've explained myself...

So why not have an option in the properties:

Preferences/Movie information/Media files importation
where under import length I can decide:
-"Make a string, e.g. 60+60":
-"Make a sum, e.g. 120"

Thanks! :) [/img]

Ok now I understand what you mean.
Actually the length imported here should be the sum of the length of the 2 files (120min and not 60min) !?
So why not have an option in the properties:

Preferences/Movie information/Media files importation
where under import length I can decide:
-"Make a string, e.g. 60+60":
-"Make a sum, e.g. 120"
Why not but the field "Length" is of type Integer unlike the field "Filesize" of type String.
If I add this option, I will have to change the field type to String instead of Integer.

you're right, it's already summed, I think my problem was related to the disk tag not identifying properly multidisc videos.
please see my other post for details:
