[FR][EN] Ant Movie Catalog 4.2.1 (04/11/17)
Thanks for the update.
After unraring the archive over the existing Program Files\ files, I note it had reset the settings. Is there a way to avoid this, as it can be a bit of a pain trying to remember what they were set to and changing them all again?
Also, are there any disadvantages to using the (faster) "internal engine rather than Mediainfo DLL" as I note it's not set to use that by default?
Also (sorry!) I can't work out how to get it to load the Covers for my XML file now. I've set the path where the covers are under Folders - Load Movie Picture.

Hi all,
If you want to reimport all pictures with the new import option you can use the script 'ReimportPictures' (it uses picture import option for scripting).
Folder option is only here to set the default folder to open when you import a new picture.
Soulsnake.
This option is just taken into account for new picture import.01- An option to optimize a catalog with included pictures. Basically convert pictures to JPG or an optimized PNG. It happened to me that I added more than 1000 movies and most pictures were on PNG or BMP format, the program just don't touch the images when saves the catalog so it's a total pain to load or save a catalog. I've tried the new format and also setted up to save the images on the same folder where the catalog is, and it doesn't extract the images by itself so it's kinda useless to set that if it's not automatic and there you have suggestion 2
02- Could it be possible that when you select keep pictures in same folder where catalog is to automatically extract the pictures when you save the catalog first time when you check that option? coz currently if the pictures where IN the catalog and the option is checked it keeps them unless you do the extraction manually.
Well I guess that's all I have in mind to be added to the program... Would be nice to see them if it's possible
If you want to reimport all pictures with the new import option you can use the script 'ReimportPictures' (it uses picture import option for scripting).
To avoid to lose all your preferences, keep the file 'prefs.xml' in AMC folder. After unraring the archive over the existing Program Files\ files, I note it had reset the settings. The internal engine only works with AVI files. Also, are there any disadvantages to using the (faster) "internal engine rather than Mediainfo DLL" as I note it's not set to use that by default
Pictures have to be stored in the same folder of your database (.amc/.xml).Also (sorry!) I can't work out how to get it to load the Covers for my XML file now. I've set the path where the covers are under Folders - Load Movie Picture.

BMP is not supported (or was it added by soulsnake?) so images can't be much more "optimized".
Possibly you can compress them more or reduce the size.
One way to do so is to export all pictures (either with the picture export, or by saving to xml), then with XnView or some other similar program "optimize" the pictures, and then reinject them into the amc file with the "AMC Image Import" tool that is on the download page of the site.

@soulsnake
Thanks, I'll keep using Mediainfo DLL then as I have a lot of mkv files these days.
Pictures are loading fine now I've put them in the same folder as the xml thanks. I guess I forgot how AMC works as I've been playing with My Films which allows me to specify a path to the pictures. I've been busy with other stuff so haven't used either for a while, so am trying to get back up to speed

Indeed, there's not one in mine either and the default.xml doesn't contain my settings.antp wrote:But there is no prefs.xml in the rar file (at least not in mine - there should not be one in yours either, as default preferences are in default.xml)soulsnake wrote: To avoid to lose all your preferences, keep the file 'prefs.xml' in AMC folder.
I can't seem to get the script (IMDB) settings to stick now. Whether I open the window by pressing F6 or Tools - Scripting, whatever I change has reset when I next open the window.
No! It is too big!Visit poster's website BMP is not supported (or was it added by soulsnake?)
You can do the same with 'ReimportPictures' script tooPossibly you can compress them more or reduce the size.

1- Modify picture import method for scripting in preferences > Copy picture to catalog folder.
2- Execute 'ReimportPictures' script on all movies
3- Use XnView or some other similar program to modify the pictures stored in catalog folder
[If you want to reimport picture into catalog]
4- Modify picture import method for scripting in preferences > Store pictures in catalog folder.
5- Execute 'ReimportPictures' script on all movies
Soulsnake.
I thought you use portable version.Indeed, there's not one in mine either and the default.xml doesn't contain my settings.

If you don't use portable version, you have to use installer or delete 'default.xml' and 'prefs.xml' in AMC folder because if these files are in this folder, program think it is a portable version and it is not the case here.
This explains why you have not your old preferences and others scripts/templates that are in folder '%PROGRAMDATA%\Ant Movie Catalog' (installed version).
Soulsnake.
Ah sorry, I obviously got confused and thought that if I already had 4.1.0.2 installed I can just unrar the rar over the top.
I've deleted the default.xml and prefs.xml and it does use my old settings in ProgramData now. I also deleted the scripts and templates folders, but still I can't get the settings to stick (i.e. changing Producer to 1 and closing the window, it's back on 0 when I re-open it).
I'm also getting an Access Violation error when selecting one particular film (Easy A). This was scraped by AMCU but I can't see anything wrong with the data and I don't get this error when selecting other films scraped by AMCU. Is there a log somewhere I can upload for you?

You have to run the script one time to save the script settings.I can't get the settings to stick (i.e. changing Producer to 1 and closing the window, it's back on 0 when I re-open it).
It is strange.I'm also getting an Access Violation error when selecting one particular film (Easy A). This was scraped by AMCU but I can't see anything wrong with the data and I don't get this error when selecting other films scraped by AMCU. Is there a log somewhere I can upload for you?
Unfortunately there is no logs.
Do you use the last version ?
The error occurs each time only with this movie ?
Maybe the picture is bad ? Can you try without the picture ?
Soulsnake.
Ah I see. Yes that works thanks.soulsnake wrote:You have to run the script one time to save the script settings.
Seems that might have been the case. I deleted the picture and rescraped it and it's OK now. It was previously scraped with AMCU, so I'll try deleting it again and scraping with that to see if I can recreate the problem and if so, ask the developers of AMCU about it. Thanks for your help.It is strange.

I rescraped the film "Easy A" with AMCU and whilst the picture displays OK in that, in AMC it causes the "Access Violation" error again.
I've uploaded the picture to http://www.mediafire.com/?jc4x6tf11y6jakj
EDIT: Actually I don't think that's the right picture. It seems I had AMCU set to store the pictures it scrapes in a Covers\ subfolder. I've fixed that now, but the actual image AMCU is scraping for that film is 4.87MB. I'll ask the AMCU developers to look at why it's scraping such a big picture, although other films have pictures almost as big, with Machete being the closest at 3.7MB, without causing any problems in AMC.

I test with this picture and all works correctly.I rescraped the film "Easy A" with AMCU and whilst the picture displays OK in that, in AMC it causes the "Access Violation" error again.

Maybe the problem is elsewhere but I don't see.
Do you have this error if you move all pictures in another place and so open catalog without pictures ?
Otherwise can you send me the "buggy" catalog with only the picture picture "buggy".
You can send me it by mail: mickael.vanneufville@gmail.com
Thanks!
Soulsnake.
I found the bug but it was not me .
The bug comes from Delphi 7 JPEG library.
Actually Delphi 7 don't handle CMYK JPEG's properly and generates an error that I can't catch!
Not good... But don't worry!
I apply a fix to handle CMYK JPEG's and all seem to work great now .
Thank to this page http://www.stack-fr.com/stackoverflow/f ... 43543.html and this page http://delphi.andreotti.nl/
I will add this fix in next update .
Thanks!
