I save my database in another location other than the default, in previous versions it used to be listed in the 'File' menu as recently opened but for some reason only the default one shows and not my database saved elsewhere.
I don't see any bug on Windows 7.
If you install AMC on Windows Vista or 7 in "C:/Program Files/Ant Movie Catalog" folder, you have to run AMC as admin to have the right to save preferences, catalogs and others files in this folder:
Right click on MovieCatalog.exe > Properties > Tab compatibility > Check "run as admin" > OK.
If this trick doesn't change anything, can you precise your system OS (e.g. XP, 7, ...), the path where you install AMC (e.g. "C:/Program Files/AMC/MovieCatalog.exe"), and the path of your catalog (e.g "C:/MyFolder/MyCatalog.amc") ?
Thanks,
Soulsnake.
Thanks for the response, I ran AMC as admin and it shows up now, also I've noticed once you have it in the list you can then disable the run as admin option so you don't get the UAC prompt when you start AMC.
It's strange, I didn't need to do run as admin with AMC 3.

I recommend you to continue to run AMC "as admin" mode because if you do not, all files in Movie Catalog folder will not be saved, such as preferences, catalogs, ...
The better way for Windows Vista/7 is to install AMC in user path such as "C:\Users\<username>\Ant Movie Catalog".
In this way, you can run AMC in normal mode without problems because you have all rights in this folder.

Hi, just found a bug with drop-down lists. I use setting "Use values of current catalog instead of predefined list" and when I start the application, lists are not pre-filled with values from catalog. They are being populated only when browsing movies. Please fix it as I use input auto-complete quite often.

Thank you for the bug report.
I fix it! This should work fine now!
I don't know why, but when I drag a new movie (.mkv, .avi, any format) the program doesn't get the data from the file. Instead, it just adds a new empty entry. I have everything enabled in preferences. However, it does work when is use "Get information from files...". So I guess it is a bug with the "Drag & Drop". Could it be?

Yes, it is a little bug introduced by myself, sorry.

Is it possible to have more than 1 cover in this version?
Is it possible to add that to a future version?
So you can have front/back/poster and maybe screenshots?

This will be the next step in development.
But for now you can use custom fields to add url of your pictures.
For example you can add two custom fields of type URL for front and back cover.
You will can set/open picture easily.
You will can use this field to show this pictures in HTML display/export.
Hi again, just two little questions, but perhaps it´s technically impossible to do.
1)
Can a input field (e.g. category) be changed in such a way that the field will not be cleared first when you type in a separator (e.g. comma) and the "autocomplete" is checked or if you want to choose another value from the list?
In other words: autocomplete and list choose should work for a second, third etc. value if you type in a separator before.
Action --> Action, Sci-Fi, Adventure
2)
would it be possible to rename a color field instead of using 0-12 in a next version?

Soulsnake.
Either always run it as admin, or never, but switching from one to the other will cause strange behaviour: in admin AMC writes directly to its folder, in user mode the modified/created files go to the virtual store instead of actually go in AMC folder.
This should work fine in most of the cases.
I am not sure it is good to install things directly in Users folder though, even if in a way it prevents any problem like that. Possibly install it to the documents folder or some other folder to which you explicitly give access rights.

Yes, I replied too quickly without seeing that there was a next page, but you saw & quoted my post before I had time to delete it
The prefs file is saved anyway, but it is not saved in the same place.

I am afraid it will be difficult to do because I have to change Windows componant. But it would be great for multiple values.

I can add possibility to specify a name associated to color tag and/or change default color in preferences in a future version.
