Hello...
AR is really a great tool! But I have a problem:
I want to use AR via the context menu. I have placed a shorcut to it in the send to folder. This works great, but only a few times. Now I get the following message:
Access violation at address 00508690 in module 'renamer.exe'. Read of address 0000000C.
It would be nice if this could be fixed soon. It would also be nice if the tool would ask me (optionally) what to add when using it via the context menu...
Greetings

Access violation
I do not know what could cause this. Which version do you use ?
You get that only when using the "send to..." menu ?
try to send me your renamer.xml config file (or post the contents here) maybe it is a problem there.
try also to rename or delete this file to see if it works again (it will revert options to default ones)

Ant Renamer v2.04

Yes.
Now I've deleted the file renamer.xml and it seems to work. Then I've compared the corrupt file with the new file. It seems that the entry "FilesColumns" in the 4th line (Main) has caused the error. This is the problematic line:
<Main State="0" Width="640" Height="540" Left="192" Top="134" AlwaysOnTop="False" ActionsListWidth="150" BatchListHeight="100" EnableBatch="True" EnableSample="True" FilesColumns="/////wIAAAADAAAACwAAAFYAZQByAHoAZQBpAGMAaABu

AAAAFAAD/AAAAAAEAAAACAAAA/////w8AAP8RAAAAEwYAAAAAAAAIAAD
/9f///w0AAABNUyBTYW5zIFNlcmlmAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA="/>
(I've wrapped the line only for better display)
I don't know what has caused this problem. And I don't hope that it comes back again. However I will report any other problems.
Questions:
Is it possible to not include subfolders when using the tool via the context menu?
