Getting the writer info from website
OK I have this running well, got all my movies in now, all tagged up and saved. Fantastic. I think the only thing missing is how to get fields added to the import by script.
So for instance, I would like the writer, how can I change the script to get this and the interface?
Would it be dificult to do?
If It's not, can I somehow retrospectively get all writers names for all the movies already tagged?

OK
I deleted antmoviecatalogue, and cleared all references to it form registry using CCleaner.
I then reinstalled it, and before use I took the only language file, (English) and did a search/replace on the word borrower, to replace with writer.
I start the progrma and . . . borrower is still the title of the field!
Where is it getting that name from?
The language file does not have the word borrower in it?
I don't understand

I thought that was the answer.
I uninstalled, reinstalled, then before running I altered the english file. On startup amc asks which language, I choose 'as translation'.
When program starts, media label has changed to Folder as I wanted, but source and borrower refuse to change to the new value.
I went into tools and changed language to english, and media label came back, then changed it to english for translation again and media label changed, but not the other two.
I'm at a loss here as to why this is. Is there a correct order to do this in? Do I change the language file after first opening amc?
Sorry, but this doesn't make any sense, it appears it's taking one word form the language file, and the other two from it's internal language.

@btm: I too think that's the problem. As you mentioned before, you did a search/replace for some words like "borrower", an automatic search I'd guess, so probably you changed field names, too. That means for a field like borrower you would have to changeantp wrote:Maybe you damaged something in the file when doing the change? e.g. what is before the "=" on the line.
Code: Select all
LBorrower.Caption=Borrower:
Code: Select all
LBorrower.Caption=Writer:
For field Media Type it worked, as you probably searched and replaced for "Media Type", but it does not have the space between Media and Type in fieldname:
Code: Select all
LMediaType.Caption=Media Type:

No, I've got where I went wrong Doh!
I uninstalled and reinstalled about a dozen times before I realised, when installing, I was unchecking the *install translations* thinking I wouldn't need it. It means of course I wasn't enabling the ability to read from the external English file.
I've got it all working fine now, but thanks for your help I appreciate it.
Of course, now I have to go through 891 records manually updating the writer field!
I still love this programme, it's the best!

If you use IMDB script for writer you can use script settings to run the script in batch mode only on the specific field, no need for manual interaction I think. Please always make a backup of your catalog before you play around with script settings on the complete catalog.boristhemoggy wrote:Of course, now I have to go through 891 records manually updating the writer field!![]()

Hi
As I have altered the IMDB script too, have my catalog and images folder,have altered the language file, etc etc I backup the entire antmovie folder. It sure saves a lot of hassle.
I was aware of batch mode, but I am ocd about being accurate, and a lot of my movies when I first imported them were listed incorrectly. Not AMC's fault, but the fact there are two or even three movies of similar names so the wrong one was often picked up. There's no way around that so I am happy to hand edit the entries.
I'm still playing with this program, to see what other possibilities there are for personalising it even further.
Again, AntMovie is fantastic!!
