I've recorded several TV series and I've been trying to figure out a way to index the recordings along with movies. I've decided to create a separate AMC file for each series, so for the subject series the catalog will be WireInTheBlood.
I tried using the IMDB script to populate my catalog for each episode, but none of the following titles finds what I want:
wire in the blood wounded surgeon
wounded surgeon
"wire in the blood" wounded surgeon
I can successfully use IMDB manually to find the series called Wire in the Blood and also I can find an entry for each episode, so I'm not sure if the IMDB script can successfully work with those entries and is suitable only for movies.
I would welcome suggestions on:
a) your preferred method for indexing TV series episodes, especially when there may be several episodes on one disc, and
b) is the problem I describe a limitation of the IMDB script or maybe I need to change one or more of the IMDB script options?
Many thanks for any advice with this.
Problem with UK TV series "Wire in the Blood", etc
Re Wire in the Blood
Sorry, I meant to append to the IMDB script thread.
IMDB script lists same results as you will find on IMDB website, default search setting is "All". So you will get a result when searching for "wire in the blood", but not for "wounded surgeon", which is the same IMDB website shows.
To get correct results for "wounded surgeon" you need to use search TV episodes settings on website. You will find this option on IMDB script, too. Open scripting window, click IMDB script once so that it is marked, see script options on right side of the window - there should be an option at the end of the list named "EpisodeTitlesSearch". Set this option to "1" and now search for "wounded surgeon" again - results list will show same options as previously, but when you hit the "Find more" button then, it will show additional results for TV episode search.
No idea about how to sort/index series the best way (I don't list single episodes myself), but I think using an additional field like Media Label for the series name is the preferred way for most users. You then can group by field Media Label and it will show the episodes within this group.
