Hello - just started using AMC today, very nice program.
I've got some DVD's that contain many, (perhaps up to 10) items
on them. I have named them Fxxx for the Media label (eg. F001)
If I use "add" to add the next item, is there a way of doing it so that the
Media label is propogated to the form, or do I have to
manually type it each time (I suppose I could use copy/paste).
Thanks for any info.
Propogate Media Label to new add ?
Hi,
You can define default values for fields in the preferences window, but there are static fixed values. Here you want to apply the same label to the set of newly added movies? You'll have to do it manually then. It could be done by script but am not sure sure that it would be much faster anyway if there are not many movies each time.

I'm willing to try anything that works. I've created the dvd's over the
years, about 200 disks, each one containing 5 - 10 items.
On each disk I've written the contents, but I've never had any number
either written on them or a unique label internally when they were
created - as you can imagine it just gets harder and harder to find
anything.
If you use tools/group by/media label, you can see the dvd's added on the
left. I thought there might have been a way to click on those items and
have a function such as "add another item to this dvd".
Or, secondly, put an uncaloged dvd in the reader and have the program
read the disk, create entries for the items and allow the user to specify
the media label (and apply it to all the just-added items)
That way they're grouped together automatically.
