program won't export to HTML

Post by moveegrl »

Hi, I have a problem when trying to export to HTML. I get a dialog box that says 50% complete then it disappears and I go to view the HTML page and the program didn't export one. I thought at first it was because I was telling it to export all 1433 movies at once so I tried to select a couple hundred and still won't export.. any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

before i was trying to use the code already there ...i just now tried to load the following template "Template_v1.2_from_Bergware" ...i unzipped it to the folder that has all my that contains my cover images and the folder the saved HTML files are supposed to export to. When I tried loading this template i get the same response. It will say 50% done then disappear and the exported HTML file is not there ...however next time i go to try to export again it shows the file being in that folder ..which doesn't make since.

Are you using Windows Vista?
To which folder do you export?
Maybe it is a folder to which the program does not have writing rights, and so files are actually placed in "VirtualStore" folder but appear at the some location when accessed within the program.
Anyway, try to export to another folder, e.g. a subfolder of "Documents".

Thanks so much for your help. I was able to get the default template to export fine by picking a new folder like you said. I still can't get "Template_v1.2_from_Bergware" template to work it loads the header image at the top and the footer image at the bottom but doesn't import my movies on it. It's just blank, and the search and other buttons at the top are not clickable. I'll have to keep messing with it because it is a real nice template. But thanks again for your help I am new to vista and was unaware of what you pointed out. :)

To use this template it is not required to export anything in HTML.

You need to unzip the files from the template to an export folder and next save your AMC database in XML format in the same export folder.
