active Links and URL for example to trailers

Post by the_at »

Hi,

perhaps this is a suggestion, perhaps someone already figured it out (didnt find anything when searched...)
I want to place a link in the catalog to the DVD-trailer on the internet. Usually I use the URL field for that (in the future perhaps separate field?). What is kind of annoying is that the link is not active. Means it is there as text, but is not clickable. I think it would be an improvement if links -once entered- are converted to active links which open the standard browser and the website.

BTW: This program is awesome! :)
Thanks,

If I correctly understand your question (and sure Antp & bad4U could give you a better answer...): you don't need any other AMC's feature than opening the list of URL's field options (the black little triangle on the right of the field) and select: 'Open URL'....
bye.

*embarrassed* :)

yes, you're right, of course. I should have tried that earlier... Thanks anyway!

PS: Perhaps a similar suggestion: Why not make movie and actor names in the description field active links to the search (like in wikipedia).
For example:
"The main actor in this movie is Tom Hanks ("Forrest Gump"), who plays his part great." Now, Tom Hanks and Forrest Gump could be underlined or something and -if clicked- open the search results for Tom Hanks and Forrst Gump.... Real Hyperlinks in the description field to information on the internet would be helpful, too...

You can also double-click on the URL.
For names, how would the program guess what should be used as hyperlink? But maybe what I could do is that if you do ctrl+click on a word it does such search...
