Add Box sets

Post by pchina »

I am truly amazed by this program. It just is great and easy to use.

One question though: how to add DVD box sets, where Publisher and Purchase price or value (for example) can be entered grouped but the details of the films, e.g. director, actors, genre, ... can be entered separately for each movie?

Thanks for the help in advance

It is possible to visually group movies in the list using the "group by" feature from the Tools menu, but unfortunately currently it is not possible to enter any info for these groups: only individual movies can contain info.

thanks for your suick reply. I was actually referring to real box sets or collections, e.g. a trilogy, which are purchased as units.

anyway, i am already happy with the program. keep up the good work

I don't know if it is of any help for you, but I group movies by Media Label, e.g. I have all Alien movies with the same Media Label ("Alien"). But still everything else has to be entered individually, this is why I usually add one entry for the whole box set (with all shared values) and than I copy and paste them and edit the individual values (length, title, ...). Result is

+ Alien
---- Alien
---- Aliens
---- Alien³
---- Alien Resurrection

Sounds somewhat confused as I reread it, maybe you'll figure it out...
