I am making a Movie Collection Archive onto an External Hard Drive and I want to use AMC to catalog and play my movies.

How or can I, use AMC at the same time with (DVD neXt COPY Pro) to copy the movies to an External Hard Drive Archive and catalog them at the same time?

1. From the AMC software which is on my laptop.
2. Locate the movie I want to watch, which was copied and stored on the External Hard Drive.
3. Start the Movie from ANT.

So my question is,
4. Can I catolog the Movie while I am copying it to the External Hard Drive?
5. Or do I have to do this twice?
5a. First copy the Movies to the External Hard Drive.
5b.Then open AMC find the movie and Add all the information myself?
6. Adding the movie information to each movie individually?

AMC gets movie info (i.e. actors, description, etc.) from websites so this is not linked to this. But indeed you could get some informations from movies that are on your external hard drive.
In which format are these stored? If these are divx files you can simply import info like from any divx.
If these are copied DVD, stored as DVD images, you can still import some info like audio tracks, etc.
You have to have the dvd files accessible (i.e. the "VIDEOTS" folder), and then import the right ".ifo" file into AMC. It is a little hard to explain though.
There is nothing made to import quickly all movies, but if these are divx you can use tools developed by other users, few solutions exist: viewtopic.php?t=229

So when I click on a movie I have copied to my hard drive, AMC will automatically look on the Internet for the movies information and add it to the catalog database?

I have not used AMC yet, just want to make sure I have as much info. as I can before I try it.
I an a AMC beginner.

No, when you create a new movie entry in your list in AMC, you can import info from two sources to fill in fields :
- internet, for general movie info (actors, summary, ...)
- divx/dvd files, for technical info (image size, languages, codecs, ...)
