invalid XML element error

I have gotten a invalid XML element error. Erroneous end of tag.
What does that mean, and how can I fix it. Also, how do I revert back to the .bak file. The XML file is 5.3MB and the bak file is 7.7MB

To revert to the .bak simply rename it to .xml (eventually with another name).
I guess that the XML file was truncated, like what other people had as problem, and I still wonder how that happens as I could never reproduce that problem (nor could the users).
