You're right. It happened because I held three (different) copies of the same file version while editing/testing and I did not change version number that is stored inside every script - so it's difficult to distinguish the files when I'm on AMC scripts listing. I just picked the wrong filename then when uploading, but realized my mistake when I did one last test .. with the file from your server ;)

hi there,

maybe it's just me - but when multiple directors are listed (on the imdb-page with [more..]) the import leaves the directorfield just empty ...

and btw: great work, guys. I'm at 5000 movies in amc soon - and I love it :)

There is a small bug in the director's import function. If there is more than one director listed (f.e. "Paris, je t'aime"), the script does not find the correct end of the directors field. I wonder why noone mentioned that bug before, it must have been there for quite a while :p

So then.. next version 3.15 : http://www.bad4u.741.com/IMDB.ifs (copy the link into a new browser window).

I corrected the director's import, it will import all names from the standard page now (but it still does not import complete director's list from /combined page, for that I would have to add an extra option like the "AllActors" one).

Fixed it. IMDB changed the code of the /awards page, so that the script could not find beginning and end of the awards table any more.

Download version 3.16 : http://www.bad4u.741.com/IMDB.ifs (copy the link into a new browser window)

Bad4u, I am very satisfied with the Google sort feature in my batch conversions for one specific reason: to avoid those weird titles that would come up. I did use exact quotations for that, though. But I think it's debatable about which is better. And of course, as you've mentioned there are other benefits to having the feature in the script.

Most of my edits afterwards are to correct movies that came up from a different year, same title. It's proven remarkably easy and successful to batch the 870 - 880 entries I had exported from DVD Profiler (aside from connection errors while running it). The last time, more than a year ago, I tried AMC, the IMDB batch mode simply wasn't sufficient. I couldn't work with the weird titles that sprung up and left AMC altogether.

A week on, I consider it largely a success.

On the year thing, maybe it'll be handy but is there a way of having a margin of error? Even IMDB doesn't agree on dates. For instance, Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari is stated by the DVD to have been made in 1919, but IMDB lists it as 1920.

From the looks of it, the maindetails add on doesn't work very well, it messed up several of my new entries (7/21 this week)...

http://www.google.com/search?&q=+site%3 ... arch&meta=
http://www.google.com/search?&q=+site%3 ... arch&meta=

For some reason, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde 1931 and 1941 won't appear on the maindetails results at all.

http://www.google.com/search?&q=+site%3 ... arch&meta=
http://www.google.com/search?&q=+site%3 ... tnG=Search

An exact quotation string identifying main pages would be better, possibly "If you enjoyed this title, our database also recommends" or "Comment on this title" (%22Comment+on+this+title%22).

Benny and Joon became Kung Pow: Enter the Fist :hihi: (I'm still yet to figure out exactly why :/ )

Edit: okay, there were 8 erroneous from 21 which is in no way acceptable. But all of those 8 corrected when I somehow managed to get it working... I think there's a few script things with the HTTP errors that I don't understand, and have no time to learn at present, but I got it working and 8/8 with %22Comment+on+this+title%22 instead of /maindetails.

I've got a problem with IMDB script, but none of these listed up here, (or maybe this problem is listed, but I didn't see it).

When importing, script doesn't import comments, but everything else are just fine (with the latest IMDB.ifs).

I just tested it and it works fine here (version 3.17) . Maybe you have set a wrong option for "Comment type" ? If the problem occurs only on single films, please give an example. If it occurs on all films and your settings seem to be correct, please list your option settings here, to see if there's a reproducable conflict within two settings.

Yes, my version is also 3.17.

when u mention comment type, I did not know what are you talking about, than I go to antmc and check it out, and see what do u mean.

when my problem occur, the setting was set to "0" and didn't work, now is set to "1" and everything is fine.

Thanks for opening my eyes!

Hi! Thanks for IMDB script it's my favourite. :grinking:
But i have a problem with it.

If downloaded info has non english simbols (french, german, ets.) they are changed to russian simbols, in filds actors, director, producer, comments and others. :??:

It looks:
Franзois Berlйand (as Bernard)
I need:
Francois Berleand (as Bernard)

So i made a table of replacement to show it:

RUS - Non ENG - That i need
а - - à - - a
б - - á - - a
в - - â - - a
г - - ã - - a
д - - ä - - a
е - - å - - a
ж - - æ - - ? not used
з - - ç - - c
и - - è - - e
й - - é - - e
к - - ê - - e
л - - ë - - e
м - - ì - - i
н - - í - - i
о - - î - - i
п - - ï - - i
р - - ð - - ? not used
с - - ñ - - n
т - - ò - - o
у - - ó - - o
ф - - ô - - o
х - - õ - - o
ц - - ö - - o
ч - - ÷ - - ? not used
ш - - ø - - o
щ - - ù - - u
ь - - ú - - u
ъ - - û - - u
ы - - ü - - u
э - - ý - - y
ю - - þ - - ?
я - - ÿ - - y

Some russian scripts uses html code to replace such simbols, but i don't like it, i can't use search to find names with html code.

My be it occurs because my OS has 2 two languages eng, rus.

What do you think?
Sorry fo my english.

If your OS is configured for Russian it is normal that French characters do not work.
AMC is not unicode and so it is unable to display foreign characters sets (e.g. on my French-configured Windows I am unable to have Russian characters in AMC).

Well, maybe it could be integrated as an option, "RemoveAccents" for example, but should not be enabled by default as for people in West-Europe & America it works fine as currently.
I let bad4u answer to the question "will it be added?" :D

lol

It should be possible, but I will need to configure my system for some more languages to do some tests before. I think it makes sense only if a solution works for all (or at least some) localized windows versions, not only russian. I'll have a look on it later, but probably not before next week. I'm running out of free time at the moment .. ;)

Actually you can test it with your current system (it is even easier with a system configurer for these accents, as you see what you do) : you "just" have to remove accents.
i.e. if you replace "é" by "e", on the Russian system it will replace the equivalent character by "e", as SFX asked. This will work on any system I think, since the character will be handled as 0-255 value and not as the character that it is supposed to be.

By the way,
æ -> ae (used for Scandinavian names)
ð -> dh (used in Icelandic names)
÷ -> : (thought hat I doubt that it will appear as it is a math symbol and not a letter)
þ ->th (used in Icelandic names)

For Icelandic characters testing: http://imdb.com/title/tt0332381/

It's interesting, I did't just see that.

It would be best solution. :)

Hmmm, my german system imports all special characters correctly into AMC when I import the icelandic film you linked above through IMDB script. Seems I will have to reconfigure my windows if I would like to see the problem and do some tests myself - although I understand how you would solve the problem.

Btw.. german accents might be little bit different, and maybe there are some more special characters than the ones listed above

ö = oe
ü = ue
ä = ae
ß = ss

All (most) western-europe languages use the same charset, so German/Icelandic/Swedish/French/etc. are compatible. IMDB uses that charset.
