added a file from cdrom problem

Post by antester »

i added an avi file from cdrom and now everytime I start the program the windows error dialog pops up (no disk) with "Cancel" "Try Again" and "Continue" buttons since I no longer have that cdrom in the drive...

btw: i was wondering if there's a "price" field? could be interesting to know what ones DVD collection is worth in total!

Try to import a file from a fixed drive, or edit the moviecatalog.xml file with notepad and search for the drive letter of your CD-Rom and remplace it with C: for example.
It is weird because few people have this problem, but I never got it, in Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP :/

For new fields, wait for version 4 ;)

<GetFromFiles Type="1" Path="E:\"/>

it seems it stores the last drive in the moviecatalog.xml without checking whether this is a removable media or not...

changed it to c:

In Tools -> Preferences -> Folders you can force it to remember the last used drive, or use a default drive, or keep Windows default (if I remember well, default is last used drive on Windows 2000/ME/XP, My documents on 98/NT, and program's folder on 95)
It is quite strange that it tries to access to this folder actually... I really do not see why it does that at startup.
