How do i number my movies if several movies on one disk?

Post by MauS »

Hi!

I keep my CDs and DVDs in portfolios, where only one disk can be put into one pocket. That's why i have to number disks as if i number pockets: for instance, a portfolio with pockets has exactly 100 disks numbered 1-100 (or 401-500 for example...).

But movies are stored on these disks NOT in "one disk - one movie" way. Some movies are stored on 2 to 3 CDs per movie, and some of them are stored 3 to 6 movies on one DVD, depending on their quality...

The question is: How do i enter info about my movies into Ant Movie Catalog so that numbering of items in it were equal to numbering of disks? Including situations when one movie is stored on several CDs or several movies are stored on one DVD?

I want to use Ant Movie Catalog to "navigate" through my movies collection. I want it to store information about my disks-with-movies, not just movies. Am i able to do that?

You can use Media Label field and/or use duplicate numbers for several movies.
That's your work to find a way to manage your movies with that :p

Sorry, one more quick question.

Is there a way to create a template? So that when i click "Add..." button, some fields were autofilled with default values, and some (like Media Label) were auto-incremented?

In the preferences, on movie info page, there is a button to specify the default values.
But you cannot specify an automatic increment, only fixed values.
