Request: Containers

Post by Alien.de »

Firstof all: Great work you've done for us all!

But I have a Problem: If I have more than one movie on a DVD, I can't make an entry for every single movie on this DVD because every new entry gets a new number an my archive is sorted by numbers on CDs/DVDs. So it would be great, if you could implement containers for DVDs/CDs (just like in Photoshop 7) where you one can put in films which are on the DVD and the container gets an id-#, and not the movies in it.

I hope you understad what I mean, 'cause english is not my natural language :-)

You can use the media label and then use Tools -> Group by -> Media label.

In version 3.5 you can have several movies with the same number and then group by number.

cool, thank you very much. but: is the 3.5rc recommendable? or is there any way of batch-filling the media lable enty in all movie entries?

edit: I have just tested the solution with the media lable: I doesn't help me out anyway, because the entries in the media lable group have also own numbers, so this won't work (remember my archive is sorted by id-#, so I won't resort my archive...)

The only reason why hthe 3.5rc5 is not labelled as "final" release is because the help file, some translations and some scripts are not yet updated.
So you can try it, and if it works better for you then use is ;) (make a backup of your list sometimes :D)
