TVshows / episodes cataloging

Hello,

First of all, I would like to compliment the creators of this tremendous tool, keep up the good work!

The current versions of AMC is perfect for movies cataloging but unfortunately is not TVepisodes-friendly.

I got some seasons of my favorite shows burned on DVDR as XVIDs, that way I could fit 12eps(350MB) / DVD.
At first I tried adding it as same ID using "Accept duplicate" option but it looks long & weird.

I'm really missing some sort of categorizing, for example:
  • ID 1
    • TV SHOW TITLE 1
      • EP1
      • EP2
      • EP3
  • ID 2
    • TV SHOW TITLE 2
      • EP10
      • EP11
      • EP12
And of course each one of the EPs should have FULL profile as a movie.. :)
This is my lil wish, hope its duable :)

Regards,
The best J33P ever :)

Some day it will probably be added, but I do not know when as it require some heavy changes in the program.
A solution would be to make one catalog per series, and so one "movie" per episode. But then you cannot currently display all series together or generate all episodes throught script (as the scripts can only fill info and not generate new items).

before opening the thread I did some searching here and found out someone already requested something like this: viewtopic.php?t=2143 (#4)
notice, the date, mid 2005 :)

Is there any public TO-DO list ?

Some are listed there:

Actually my personnal to-do list is mostly in French and all its points are maybe not so easy to understand :D
I should maybe set up a Mantis server to centralize bugs and things to do, but again it takes time to do that :/

TV Eps not listed :(

Well, I could use diff. app. for TVeps with CVS but it would be a bitch later on to READD if the type wont be the same.

That does not mean that it won't come. It may be added before other things of that list.

I do not understand what you mean in the second part of your message :??:

I mean, meanwhile you're developing it I could use different application for organizing the TVshows and later on when you finished developing import via CVS.

Although my worry is it wont fit, thats all :)

Hi Delusion !

Have you ever used the "group" function ?

Personnaly, for my TV Shows, I enter the name of the Show in the Original Title Field and the name of the Show + the name of the episode in the Translated Title Field.
So, when I group by Original Title, I got a similar structure that you search ;)

I tried that already, it just looks weird.. how can you see ONLY the series's without the episodes?

For example I wanna see what series's I got on that CD without the episodes list.. you simply cant do that.
your solution is based on dealing with an existing situation.. I rather wait for a proper support or use diff. tool than catalog like that .. you're limited in so many ways right now, for example you cant even set 1 IMG for all the SERIES otherwise you'll have to attach saparated image for each and every episode.

Using diff. tool with CSV support seems like the best temporary solution atm (for me at least).

Thanks anyways :(

I also ran into this problem trying to add my series to ant movie catalog, here's what I came up with as a solution.
Series name - Media Label
Season nº - Media type
epsiode name - original title

Then I group by Media Label and I get the season grouped by their name. Also, I assigned numbers to the episodes according to the dvd they are recorded on, for example, episodes 1-12 of season 2 of series ABC are numbered 1.
The only downside of my workaround is I can't import the media label nor media type for the episodes, but I don't really need that info, another workaround is to use other fields, like source or subtitles, depending on the info that you want and need for your series catalog.
Alos, for season nº I put the season name before it, ABC - Season 1, this way you could also group by seasons.
