Hi all,

Here is a script to import episodes information from tv.com :

TV.com importation script

Features and limitations :
  • Imports title and episode number in the Original Title field in this format : <season>x<episode> - <title> (e.g. 1x1 - The One Where Monica Gets A Roommate)
  • Imports : Director, Year (based on the first airing), Category, Rating, URL, Description, Writer (in the Producer Field), Cast & Guest Stars (in the Actors field), Production Code (in the Comments field)
  • doesn't import the country because I couldn't find it on tv.com
  • doesn't import the length because tv.com isn't very accurate on this (e.g. anything from 45 mins to an hour will be listed as an hour)
  • can be very slow because the pages take forever to load - I get a lot of read timeouts. I guess it's because of tv.com - does anyone know if there's something I can do on my side ?
Scheduled improvements for next versions :
  • option to disable episode number importation or change the way it's imported
  • option to change where the guest stars are mentioned
  • options to import other things, like trivia, comments, etc...
  • update ability (right now you have to do the search all over again)
It would help a lot if some of you could test it on differents tv shows so that I'm sure it works.
Any new idea, comment or bug report is welcome !

I tried searching for the episode 1x02 of "Battlestar Galactica" (the new version of the show) and could not get it to work.

When I enter "Galactica" as the shown name and "Water" as de episode title, it correctly gives me three options for the show (Galactica 1980, Battlestar Galactica (2003) and Battlestar Galactica (1978)). I select de correct one but then (very quickley) it shows an empty results window for "Water"...

I tried with your example (show "Friends", episode "The One Where Monica Gets A Roommate") and it works very well, so I think it is a problem with the specific "Galactica" show.

Thank you very much

testing it now. would be usefel for non en users (ie different episode titles) to import the complete list of episodes divide per season of a series and not just episodes one by one. would be even much more less entries in the database

Pko, I've just did exactly how you said and I got the correct result. I think you might have a problem with downloading the file. I'm afraid I can't really help you...

Matteo, I'll try to implement that in the next version. I'm not sure when I'll have the time to do it though - I have lots of work right now.

I dont know if this can help, but the eXtreme Movie Manager has a script to download all epsiodes from one series. One can have a look at it if you download the programm and go into the scripts directory.....
