100% cpu usage, system hangs

At first I thought it was something in particular I was doing but then it did the exact same when I just loaded it up to check something. It uses all my cpu and I have to use task manager to shut it down but that causes explorer.exe to hang. I use task manager once again to close it down (explorer)and restart it again.
Windows xp service pack 2
amd xp1700
512 ram
version used 3.5.0
One other thing I noticed was [pagetotal] returns a value of 0 all the time.
Other than those, you have created a fantastic piece of software which is already one of my 'must have' applications even though I've only used it for an hour or so. Thank you very much.

So that happens when you do what?
About the pagetotal, the "two-pass report" option in Report Designer has to be enabled, as explained in AMC's help file, on the page that explains how to build reports.

The last 3 times it did it, I was doing different things. Once when I was changing media type and once while changing the video format via the drop done menu's. The last time I did nothing other than closing the program using the red x instead of file|exit.

I have the exact same problem!!!! It doesn't matter what we do! I've been using this piece of software for quite some time now... I'm not sure but I think this problem started in the last upgrade... My PC is very similar to our friend here! 2600 AMD; XP SP2...
This problem is really pissing me off!
If this wasn't an absolutely essensial software, I had already uninstalled it.
My experience with this bug tells me the only way to prevent the crash is writing! when I write in the fields the program behaves properly... however when I use the mouse to search a position of a movie in the list... or whatever... it crashes after a few seconds (10 to 60s average). I've been having this problem for many months now... and my patience is reaching its limits! please give a solution... I've been waiting for an upgrade for ages here!!! I'm already searching the web for a similar program...

I guess it's a problem related to a driver or another software installed. But I can't find how to solve that if the problem does not occur on my PC...

I've the same problem !

The problem is that if I can't reproduce the problem on my PC I can't find what cause that

A solution would be that I contact on MSN/ICQ someone that has the problem and that he installs Borland's remote debugging tool, so I can try to see where in the code the problem happens. It would be better with someone that has a direct connection (no router or proxy) so there is no port to forward.

We can do that on friday after 5 PM (CET) or this week-end.
I'll put the Borland tool on my server so you can download it.
You can already add me to your MSN, ICQ or Jabber list.

I had this problem a long time ago. Problem went away when I started to save my catalog in XML-format instead of AMC-format...Hope this trick helps someone?

OK, if it is OK for you we can do that tomorrow in the afternoon (I had to stay later at work; usually leaver earlier on friday)
I already uploaded Borland's remote debug tool there:

As I wrote on another topic (there are too many topics about this bug

) I could not find the problem using remote debugging. That makes me think that the problem is not in AMC code but in Borland's code or in a third-party tool that I use.

I have had this problem for some time, on several versions of the program. I use XML as file format. I think it's related to the size of the database. My problems started when I had registered about 700 movies. I solved the problem by splitting my database in two.

Maybe it's related to some special values of the list rather than the number of items in it.
If you still have the XML file that cause this problem can you send it to me?
