I downloaded the latest version of ant movie catalog.
I created a database with 154 movies.
I used the option File - Export
I choose HTML
I sort on original title
When I open the HTML file it only shows $$
For example:
$$ITEM_ORIGINALTITLE
$$ITEM_RATING
$$ITEM_LANGUAGES
A picture folder is also created that is empty.
I tried every template
They all have the same problem

The HTML export has two "tabs": "Full" and "Individual".
The first one is for a template that will generate a page containing a list of movies, the other one for a template that generates a page for each movie.
On the right of these "tabs" you have an option to specify if you want to export both types or just the one selected.
It is possible that you selected in the "full" list a template made for individual pages, or vice-versa.
