Delphi is the programming language that is used to compile Ant Movie Catalog source code, afaik it is still compiled with an older version (Delphi 7 Professional).

From August 22nd to September 9th embarcadero gives away latest version Delphi 10.1 Starter for FREE, which is just great for anyone who wants to learn or try to build his own software with Delphi, eventually derived from AMC sources. Regular price is about 385€ !

Delphi Starter Edition has some restrictions in meaning of limited commercial usage (please read license details if you want to make money with it) and missing some componentes and features the Pro versions come with (mainly databases, cloud, Win64, Mac/Android support, etc.), but is nice version to learn and see if you get results before you eventually get invested. As prices for Delphi went up more than +100% (XE2 Starter Upgrade was ~150€, new version is ~315€), this might be a now or never deal for most people.

IMPORTANT: Please know that you cannot simply load and compile recent AMC sources without modifications, so you need to replace some components that are only available with Pro version (like TeeChart) or find updated ones for older versions, but it should be doable (I compiled Sisimizi Game Catalog with Delphi 7 Personal which had similar restrictions and might give new version a shot too).

Note: That's full version of Delphi Starter, not time limited demo or something. It only comes *without* the 1 year update subscription service or support, but the usage license is not restricted or time limited. No payment required, just a registration (they will send mails out for upgrades etc 3-4 times a week, just so you know and choose the mail adress wisely if not interested).

Just a small update as the free period has been extended and C++ Builder added to the deal:

Delphi 10.1 Berlin and C++ Builder 10.1 Berlin Starter Editions are currently available for free for those who are interested. No time limit, full functional (within the general limits of the Starter versions), no update subscription included. C++ Builder was free few months ago with some promotion and has been added to the deal again for limited time. You need to register an account with an valid email adress to get the licenses.
