Hi everyone. This is my first question and post, I hope somebody can help me.

I just creating my new movie catalog, I'm thrilled with AMC. I'm adding all my videos to it, step by step. But a doubt came to me and I want to figure it out before continuing to adding videos.

Due to storage space, usually I have to move my movies from one hard drive to another, change folders, location, etc. Here is an example: If I change a video from "D:\Movies\Movie1.avi" to "D:\OldMovies\Seen\Movie1.avi", Is there any way that AMC updates the new file path without having to re-import and re-download from internet all the information I already did?

I want to know this before completing my catalog, in order to take actions.

That can be done by script, either by writing a few lines or by using 'update fields' script (via Tools -> Scripting)

Hi... Thanks very much for your answer, antp. Actually, I had read the thread you quoted, but what I'm asking is a little different. I'll try to be more specific with the problem:

I have all my videos with the following structure:
D:\Movies\Genre1\Movie Name1\FilmName1.avi
D:\Movies\Genre2\Movie Name2\FilmName2.avi

Obviously, the folders Genre, Movie Name and Film name file are totally different. To my understanding, with the script you refered, you can change all if you are going to change, for instance, the folder "Movies" for "New Movies", or if you change the drive from "D" to "E". But the problem is that if the Genre, Movie Name, and FilmName are differents, I don't think that it can be done with that script.

I couldn't find a thread with a similar question. Should this be done manually?

It can be done by script as long as there is a rule that can be defined for what to change.
If it is a case-by-case change it can't be automated.
I can help with a custom script if you say exactly what has to be done
