Hi, my AMC don't recognize some foreign letters like 'è' etc.
For example instead of è it shows č.
I'm using Win7. On XP it was normal.

Any solutions, please?

Hi,

AMC is not unicode so you have to use the same language (system locale) than you used in Windows XP to have the good characters.
It will be the same problem with other programs that are not unicode.

Also, where do you see that problem?
If it is for xml or html export, that might due to the encoding specified or the template used...

I'm using AMC 4.1.2.3., and I have a similar problem when downloading infos from IMDb. For example, if I try to retrieve information for Nausicaä, the ä is changed to a strange string of characters. The strange thing is, the ä is not changed to the same characters whether it's in the request I sent, or in the titles IMDb replies.



Anyway: it gets boring at times, when that bug prevents AMC from locating the right film. It works the same when I try creating a new film with accents in the title, so this is not because some of my data were created on XP or Vista. So, no use changing the system locale, right ? So is this a bug of me, or everyone? ^^"

It seems that IMDb uses UTF8 now for their results list... I'll update the script.
But I am not sure it cause problems for the search: it seems to return the same with or without accents. The problem is just for the display in that list.

edit: the search might also work better now actually, as IMDb seems to expect the search term encoded in UTF8.
I updated the script on the server as version 3.80

PS: script-related problems are rather for the "scripts" section of the forum (where there is at least one thread for IMDb); the "bug report" section is for problems related to AMC itself.
