*** This template needs AMC v4.2 ! ***
hi folks,
using the new AMC v4.2 with all the nice features is a lot of fun and makes additional picture handling much easier than before.
So I decided to release a template using a lot of these new possibilities giving you tons of pictures in the HTML-view.
It´s a lightweighted layout I found a while ago, originally made by Oguz Kaan C Kilinc for EAXMC. I adapted this layout to AMC and added some more pictures features.
It uses up to 10 stills as well as 4 background pictures and you can of course use some of the new fields. Just have a look and decide if you like it.
The template uses the three extra categories "Actors", "Stills" and "Backgrounds", so you have to assign them to your pictures. Actors name has to be in field "Title" and actors role in field "Description".
If you are a lazy guy (like me), I will (hopefully) soon release a script for automatic download and fill the "Actors" part (pic, name, role) from IMDB.
Just extract it to your templates dir.
have fun.

update
hi,
just a small update.
- (fix) changed some hardcoded german words back to field description
- (add) new "cover back" with show/hide when check/uncheck in extra data
- (add) toplines disappear when picture category is empty (cover back, stills, backgrounds)
I also added an example catalog (with included pictures, not recommended!) to get an idea about the template.
have fun.

template script
I just tested your template, it is really great. I eagerly await your script for automatic download and fill the "Actors" part (pic, name, role) from IMDB.
Keep up good work.
Keep up good work.
[UPD]
Thank you.
So here is now the promised script and a small template update.
template:
- (fix) Layout fixed when missing IMDB-Rating
- (new) You can open a browser link to the respective actors page on IMDB by clicking on actors name (hand cursor will appear)
script:
BETA release for testing. move the "IMDB (Actor images).ifs" file to your script directory.
The script will import the first five main actors image and some data (see extras).
Pls. do for now not change the script options, they don´t work properly.
You have to set your picture importation method in the preferences of AMC first! (Klick "for extras" and then choose your method at "for internet scripting")
A better image selection will come with final version
That´s for now. hope you enjoy.

[UPD]
OK, so here now is v1.0 of script "IMDB (Actor images).ifs".
I have added some more features and tested it slightly. You should preventively use the script with a BACKUP catalog first to see how it works.
How it works:
- Pls. first set up your favorite import method for the extra pictures in the AMC preferences.
- Open your catalog (a catalog is needed).
- The script has different options which can be set in the scripting window. These are essential for the function of the script. For the first time you import images, you should use the default options (0,0,1) which imports you additional five actor images to the category "Actors" for every choosen movie. The selection of actors is given by IMDB which normaly includes the main actors.
Options:
# BatchMode: Needs some more fixing, pls. use value 0 for now.
# ImageLayout: There is a fast and a slow import method. Normaly the fast method works nice for almost all actors, but sometimes the image is one with a wrong cut. The slow method imports the images as seen on IMDB actor page but takes twice as long.
# SelectionMode: This is usefull if you already have your actor images imported and want to exchange some of them.
A good method for importing is to:
- select your movies and run the script with default options (0,0,1) and choose SELECTED movies.
- have a look into your new extra pictures. if there is a bad image select it (blue background) and check the movie (in the movie title). You can select more than one image and check more than one movie.
- start script again with options (0,1,2) and choose CHECKED movies. The script will now replace all selected images from all checked movies with a perhaps better image.
Well, that should give you now a comfortable way to fill up your extras with a lot of actor pictures. You can of course add/change individual images without the script.
IMDB (Actor images).ifs
cheers

There is an option "AllActors" in the script that allows a few different choices, including one for picking 10 first.Nitro wrote:How can i change the imdb script so that it only picks up the first 10 actors? its picking up ALL right now
(options are located on the right of the window when you select the script)
Not from me, because I haven´t found a real good source for images, backgrounds etc.is there a script to import the stills/backgrounds similar to the script for the actor images?
Personally I prefer a couple of "hand-picked" good looking images from different sources rather than dozens of images from one site.
But you can take a look at the Allocine script with which you can download a lot of stills and actor pictures you also can use with this template (just rename the categories).
Sure, but therefor you need to ask the author(s) of the IMDB script.can your actor images script be included in the IMDB script?
Extra picture import is a new feature to AMC, so it might take some time to include this into the scripts working in all circumstances.
Meanwhile you can try to integrate my code into the IMDB script yourself, looks not too complicate, it´s more or less paste the procedure at the right position.
So I believe this is the code:antp wrote:There is an option "AllActors" in the script that allows a few different choices, including one for picking 10 first.Nitro wrote:How can i change the imdb script so that it only picks up the first 10 actors? its picking up ALL right now

AllActors=0|0|0=Only import actors from main page (does not work if you import producer name)|1=Import all possible actors|2=Import 10 first actors (does not work with ActorLayout=4)
But is there where I change it as well?
So then if I want 10 actors, it would be:
AllActors=10|0|
is this correct?

Very nice indeed, modern and stylish looking, it´s on a good way.
Well, I (and certainly some more poeple) am interested in your results, so don´t hesitate to post you template here when it´s final. Might be a good idea to start a new thread with a slightly different template name if you plan to do further development.
I´m looking forward to see what´s coming up.
cheers
