When i sort my movie file by any of the fields available the data displayed is always the title field, Yes the order changes but why isn't the field sorted on displayed in the window frame.
I believe this problem began for me when i went to the 4.1.0 version. Earlier version always showed the field being sorted. in the window

Is it in normal mode or in grid mode?
In normal mode there were always only two columns.

Maybe you misunderstand the problem.
I am in normal mode and yes only 2 columns displayed.
Now when i sort a field "translated Title"
I would like to see the translated title shown and be sorted.
as it is now the titles are sorted by translated title but the list shows the original title.

But why do you post that in "bug reports"? There is no bug here, it is not supposed to add the column on which it sorts (extra columns are available in grid mode), and in earlier versions it was already working like that
(I do not know exactly when it was added, but in version 3.5 there was no option for sorting on any field like that anyway)

i am not looking to add a column. let me give you an example
if i have 3 movies
No Original title Translated Title
1 As good as it gets Old Friends
2 Bone Snatcher SandMother
3 Casablanca Every one comes to ricks
If i sort by the translated title i would expect to see:
3 Everyone comes to Ricks
1 Old Friends
2 SandMother
but the window shows
3 Casablanca
1 Bone Snatcher
2 Old Friends
It did not do this in the earlier version

I just reinstalled version 3.5.1.2 and when i do a group by
the data is displayed as i would want it to be displayed
but Group by in version 4.1.0.2 does not do the same as it does in the earlier version

Is it about sorting or renumbering? Why do you add grouping in the discussion? I am completely lost here.
Can you provide screenshots of comparison?
Do you mean that it shows the original title instead of the translated title?
That has nothing to do with sorting or grouping; in the options you can chose to display either original, translated or both title in the title column ("formatting title").

this is about sorting not numbering. In the earlier version you do not have a sort by you have a group by, that's why .
If You have the earlier version 3.5.1.2 and you do a group by you will see what i am talking about.
In 4.0.1.2 the file IS sorted by the field but the field is not being displayed, the field displayed is the original title field.

Thanks for the pictures, but I still do not get it: the sorting is a feature added, so why do you compare that to version 3.5 ?
I asked pictures to see the comparison between the two when doing the same thing in both versions, but here both images are from version 4.
You can still use the grouping in version 4 like in version 3.5
Doesn't that gave the same result?
The program does not display the field on which you sort, because it is not supposed to do it. It shows number & formatted title columns, that's all. You have the grid view to view additional columns (from which you can chose the ones you want to keep).
Also, sorting on translated title alone is not working well, because lots of movies have an empty translated title. Best way to do that is to set the formatted title to "translated (original)" or just "translated", and then sort by the formatted title columns of the main view.

Hi joe935,
I think you are a little confused with changes.
In AMC 3.5, you can 'Group by' but you can not 'Sort by' on another field that it is not visible.
In AMC 4.1 you can. That why when you use 'Sort by' in AMC 4.1 you think it should show values of sorted field in 'Title' column but this is not the normal behaviour. If you want to see values of sorted field, use grid mode.
Now about 'Group by' in AMC 3.5 you have an option to don't make groups if movie is alone in the group. Maybe this is the behaviour you have before that why you are confused.
This option does not exist anymore in AMC 4.1 because it does not work with display as thumbnails that needs groups.
But you will still see all groups sorted on grouped field value in 'Title' column.

I forgot about that option of putting movies outside groups... that's probably what was giving, by side effect, the wanted result
Well, I think it is still better to use the formatted title set to translated title rather than original title then.

Antp. the problem is not the sorting , but the displayed result in 4.0.1.2
