Propogate Media Label to new add ?

Hello - just started using AMC today, very nice program.
I've got some DVD's that contain many, (perhaps up to 10) items
on them. I have named them Fxxx for the Media label (eg. F001)
If I use "add" to add the next item, is there a way of doing it so that the
Media label is propogated to the form, or do I have to
manually type it each time (I suppose I could use copy/paste).
Thanks for any info.

Hi,
You can define default values for fields in the preferences window, but there are static fixed values. Here you want to apply the same label to the set of newly added movies? You'll have to do it manually then. It could be done by script but am not sure sure that it would be much faster anyway if there are not many movies each time.

I might be wrong, but I think he wants to import that field through MediaInfo from DVDs ?

I'm willing to try anything that works. I've created the dvd's over the
years, about 200 disks, each one containing 5 - 10 items.
On each disk I've written the contents, but I've never had any number
either written on them or a unique label internally when they were
created - as you can imagine it just gets harder and harder to find
anything.
If you use tools/group by/media label, you can see the dvd's added on the
left. I thought there might have been a way to click on those items and
have a function such as "add another item to this dvd".
Or, secondly, put an uncaloged dvd in the reader and have the program
read the disk, create entries for the items and allow the user to specify
the media label (and apply it to all the just-added items)
That way they're grouped together automatically.

You can mark all movies that appear on the same disc on your movie list and then run a short script that writes the same media label to the selected movies (e.g. "Box #01 - Disc #001"). Not sure if this fully meets your needs.

What I was doing myself is that I put in media label of each movie of a DVD the number of the 1st movie of that DVD (as each movie in the program as a number), so by grouping by media label I directly see them grouped by DVD.
