After releasing an initial update file. I have been working on more changes which results in a new version 2.1. For those who downloaded the earlier update, please redownload this complete package to get a fully functional version.

In this version the following has been improved as compared to version 2.0

- Fixed header rows in film table. No longer scrolls out of sight
- Extra field in search function to define search scope
- Phonetic search only on film titles and names
- Extended support for flag, video and audio functions (new switches & attributes)
- Fallback feature when image is not found (not defined in locale.xml) then original text is displayed instead
- New layout files included with improved visuals
- Option to specify database+pictures in subfolder (see file "movies.html")
- Updated image files
- Improved sorting
- Several corrections in javascript and themes

I was wonder if there is a way to use this in offline mode as well...

The First version loaded no problem at all using a CD-Menu program, but now this new V2.x seems to have an error in movies.js

It says access denied
Line: 442
Char: 5

If I click yes to continue script it does not load and still has the error..

If works perfect online, but I pass this in database onto customers in a compiled exe file so they can browse the whole database offline without going on the net and stopped the program from been modified.

In version 2.x the way to retrieve the XML files was changed to be compatible with Chrome browser.

A quick check if this is the cause: can you do off-line browsing using Internet Explorer?

The CD-Menu programs don't use the actual External Internet Explorer programs, they use the internal one....

The obvious weird thing is that it works ok before the 2.0 but the with the 2.x onwards...

I would prefer obviously to use the excellent better design of version 2.x, I can provide the program if it helps, it's about 33Mb in size just so you can see what I mean.

To be able to troubleshoot this one, I suppose I need your program.

In the new setup a HTTP request is done rather than a document open, but at this point it is guess work.

That has been checked and verified no viruses

File is downloaded... 69 MB is about 33 MB

That is the full version with all the extras in it, buttons and so on.. the 33mb was corrupted..

A quick test is to

File>New / Blank Project
CTRL + 9 (object>Web)
type exact location of HTML file
(c:\Template_v2.1_from_Bergware\index.html
Then F5 to preview

Do this with the older 1.x program it is is perfect

Okay, see what you mean.

It is indeed the code part that loads the XML by doing a HTTP request. When I replace that with the "traditional" loading of version 1.x it works.

You may want to test this yourself and download a test javascript file **removed** (copy your original movies.js file just in case)

Now I need to think how to combine the good of both worlds

You need to download and install the complete v2.1 package. Warning: this overwrites the XML layout files (if you have made modifs be aware)

Ps. I found a way to combine all goods. The updated movies.js file is now included in the v2.1 zip file (see beginning of this topic)

It works ok with the test xml file with about 50 records in it...

When I tried to load one for just over 300, it seems to take forever to load...

The two files are identical apart from the amount of records in each of them.

I tried this in google chrome and IE with the same result which is weird.

Any ideas why it can only load a very small amount of records.

Again, thanks for you help on this which I am sure others will appreciate.

Did you try to unzip the v2.1 file to a new folder a create a fresh start?

I re-downloaded it from the link above, extracted to a new folder and copied a xml files with 381 records in it and the IE error message in the movies.js is

'null' is null or not an object
movies.js line: 276
Code:0 Char: 3

It shows the amount of records in the right corner but has the wait symbol as if it is loading but isn't due to the error

Excellent work...

All changed, tested and uploaded, even the offline exe compiled file.

Couple of customers have tested and works ok on there older system as well.

Hi m8 again.....

I have been asked two questions regarding this excellent database, which I think might be a long haul to do (but I have faith in you)....

Q1: When clicking the email to send "Your Choice" of titles is it possible to prompt for the sender to enter in some comments or further requests that can be added at the end of the summary totals....
This is typical like they want to provide another delivery address or ask a question.

Q2: Is it possible to not use an email program as a lot of people have web-base email and don't always copy and paste everything correctly (inexperience), something like a mail-bot I think....
I have my own email and web server which is paid for...

2 email options would be ideal.. One to use the one now build in and the other which is an online one typically someone using a mobile phone and don't have emails setup so a build in webtype one...

J'ai chargé ce thème, mais je n'arrive pas à faire disparaitre la colonne de droite d'affichage de la liste (la colonne marron). C'est possible ? Par ailleurs, je voudrais aussi faire disparaitre le titre original ....
