hey folks - so far, im liking the program. I was able to move my database from dvd profiler quite easily.
My question is, and Im not sure if its already been addressed, but is there a way to get DVD info from my DVD drive? I liked that feature of dvd profiler where I can simply insert a dvd into my dvd drive, and it would read the disc, and search imdb or whatever.
tia and please keep up the great work!

To import technical info (resolution, audio tracks, ...) you have to import one of the IFO files, usually the one which is named like the biggest VOB files. I know, it is not very easy at first

I have to make something more automatic. Drag & drop the IFO file to AMC's window, or use movie->get info from files.
For getting movie info from IMDB or another, you have to use movie->get info from script, or press F6. It won't find the movie itself, you have to type the title, as there is no database making the link between DVD code/number and the movie on IMDB. DVD Profiler has its own database, one of the reasons why it is not free I guess.

Well, it is still rather quick when you do it for 1 DVD. Of course if you have lots to import, it is a little more annoying.
e.g. here you directly see that it is the 04 that has to be taken:

would it be possible to ant scan a dvd (or a folder on your harddrive) with several movie files...and the file names would be added as a new movie? or will it only be drag and drop for 1 file at the time?

Yes that will be added... some day. It is since long time on my to-do list, I really have to add better file importation, but I do not know when I will do that

In the mean time, for DVDs there is just the semi-manual way as described here above. For importing multiple files as multiple movies, see
