I can't add new entries

I don't know what I have done but when I opened the program today to add a couple more films I found that I could not. The reason is that the icon with the plus sign wasn't displayed. There is a blank space displayed where the icon would normally be seen. I have tried reinstalling the program as well as setting the toolbar so that all options were turned on but neither of these things worked.

Is there some option that I have missed that resets the whole program back to how it originally was, or does anyone have any other ideas as to hoe to fix the problem?

Maybe you are in "grid" mode? (Tools menu)
Though that normally if the icon is just deactivated it should appear grayed, not replaced by a blank space :??:

I've never see grid mode before. It makes no difference if I have it switched on or off as I still can't see the add icon.

What about the 'Movie -> Add...' from menu ? Or rightclick on the movie list and choose 'Add' from this menu ? Try switching the icon set to another one (Tools > Preferences > General Display > IconSet). Doesn't work either ?

When I go to movie & right click to add an entry the field is greyed out.

I'm not certain where you mean when you suggest that I right click on the movie list. I have tried this on an individual film but no add option pops up.

I have tried changing the icons skins & the icons do change but the add, change number & delete icons are still greyed out.

I've also tried renumbering entries but that didnt help either.

The only thing else that I can think of is to try to export the file & then import it into another data base but I'm not certain just how to do this.

What about saving just the data files then completely deleting the program, reboot then reinstall the program?

You can directly import the catalog into another (no need to export) but I do no really see how it would solve the problem. Same for reinstalling the program: I do not see anything which could be "locked" like that.

Only "places" in the code of the program where the add button/command is deactivated is when the grid mode is enabled. Anytime that this option is not enabled, the add button is enabled.

Maybe you can post a screenshot, in case I see something else...

I have sent you a small screen shot. As you can see all of the data Isn't displayed as it normally would be & I'm incertain as to how to reset it.

I received the e-mail.
As replied (I post it here too for future visitors), on your screen capture the "grid" mode is turned on, and has to be turned off to be able to add/edit movies.
